CARE MANAGEMENT The detailed and diligent care we provide for your family member gives you the peace of mind you’ve been seeking. At First & Main, care is delivered every moment of every day and it is supported by powerful technology. Medication management is meticulously performed and physician orders are dutifully followed. We serve many levels of senior care, each managed by the community’s Health and Wellness Director. Only a Nurse can fill this position, which oversees our professional caregiver staff and monitors the well being of residents.
CARE TECHNOLOGY
LG CNS Electronic Health Records (EHR) – Beginning with a resident’s initial assessment, this sophisticated system keeps a detailed electronic record of the health of a resident. This information is available to the resident’s physician at any time. LG CNS Electronic Medication Management Records (EMAR) – Accuracy and accountability are essential in managing a resident’s medication. Physician’s orders are followed exactly and refills are ordered automatically by this system. Quiet Care – We can’t watch a resident at night, so this technology allows us to pattern their nighttime behavior. Quiet Care learns a resident’s patterns and alerts the care staff when that pattern is significantly altered. Sharing this information with the resident’s physician and family allows for proactive measures.

Point of Care Solution (POC) - Caregivers use these hand-held mobile devices for real-time documentation and communication at point-of-care. Because caregivers aren’t constantly filling out paper charts, they spend more time caring for the residents. Real Time Location Services Pendant – When a resident needs help, the push of a button on their pendant alerts the staff, tells them who is in need, and where in the community that person is located. This information appears on the caregiver’s POC, which electronically documents the incident and displays important information about the resident.

TECHNOLOGY
This generation is used to changes in technology. They have adopted and adapted to more technological advances than any other generation in history. When they were young, their parents got news from the family’s crystal radio set. It was replaced by the wireless radio, and then the black and white television and a whirlwind of electronic, manufacturing, and medical advances. They’ve seen phonographs evolve into DVD players, ovens into microwaves, catalogs into websites, and the list goes on. Technology has changed every aspect of this generation of senior’s lives, and they’ve continually embraced it. One main goal of First & Main’s technology is keeping residents connected to friends and family and when help is needed, we provide patient stepby-step instruction.

Radio Frequency Wristbands (RFID) – Hard to manage door keys are replaced by digitally encoded wristbands that easily unlock a resident’s apartment. Only the resident, caregivers, and authorized family members will be issued these electronic passes, which creates a permanent record of every individual entering a suite. It’s Never Too Late Software (IN2L) – This is First & Main’s software superstar. Residents can play trivia, tour their hometowns with Street View, or listen to vintage radio shows. IN2L encourages the pursuit of lifelong passions or exploration of new ones. Community Wide WiFi – Every corner of First & Main is washed with a powerful WiFi signal. Residents and their families are free to use their tablets anywhere they wish as they communicate using Skype or email. This WiFi is the power behind our care technology and alert pendants. Community Digital Signage – Throughout First & Main, digital signage keeps residents informed about upcoming events, shows them the forecast, and displays pictures of them enjoying past events.

DINING By plating our meals with care, artistry, and a keen sense of our resident’s tastes, dining at First & Main is a true restaurant-style experience. Our chefs work to continually evolve the selections on our menu so that there’s always something new to try. Residents will enjoy three well-balanced and delicious meals each day, along with healthy snacks that are always readily available. And when something on the entrée menu isn’t a resident’s favorite or they’re feeling out of sorts, we adjust and accommodate those preferences through our alternate selections menu available at any mealtime. Not to mention, we believe that fresh and wholesome food is key to good health, and our commitment to bringing the garden to the table is unparalleled.

MEMORY CARE Greater care and greater understanding is required with residents living with Alzheimer’s or dementia and we’re prepared. Memory Care residents live in a secured setting, which is suited to their unique needs. In this protected environment, our dedicated Memory Care staff controls conditions to ensure a calm and routine atmosphere, which is essential for the resident’s emotional comfort. Memory Care suites provide the same privacy and elegant living standards of Assisted Living and residents enjoy meals served family style. First & Main’s Memory Care Coordinator and staff are fully focused on these residents and do not have responsibilities outside of Memory Care. Using tools such as IN2L, they involve residents in stimulating activities and gently guide them through their days.
PRIVATE SUITES Bright and luxurious studios and suites are places residents call their own. They are secluded havens when residents want privacy and accommodating spaces when they have company. First & Main’s variety of suites is designed for the individual lifestyle of a resident. A couple may choose a one or two bedroom, and individuals may select a suite that shares a common area with a neighbor or sibling.
