Adverse Childhood Experiences: It’s All About the ACEs

PARENTING AND FAMILY

Children need several things to be successful. Two of the biggies are role models and cheerleaders. Most of us have memories of those people in our lives because they are so important. Come join us in learning about what the characteristics of a good role model and cheerleader are, why they are so important to our children’s development and well-being and who typically fills those shoes and why. This class has been pre-approved on the Early Childhood Practitioner Registry for 4 continuing education credits. Childcare not provided.

What if the largest public health discovery of our time is about the smallest of us? Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are stressful or traumatic events that can have a cumulative impact on societal health and well-being. Join the conversation and learn how to change the trajectory of your life or someone else’s. This workshop will cover the ACE Study, along with neurobiology that explains why ACEs have so much effect in people’s lives, and what we can do to dramatically improve health and resilience for future generations. Individual request for early childhood training forms are available. This class has been preapproved for 6 credit hours on the Early Childhood Practitioner Registry. No child care available. What are Pilates Reformer Classes?

Pilates Reformer classes offer the benefits of Pilates including overall strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. These things in turn lead to daily life improvements like better posture, efficient movement, and for many, relief from pain associated with physical imbalances. Strength building using the Pilates Reformer centers on the Pilates powerhouse muscles, which are the muscles of the core. Strong abs and strong backs, toned buttock and thighs, and improved range of motion and flexibility are benefits of incorporating Pilates Reformer training into your fitness regimen or injury prevention/recovery. Classes are held at Alpine Physical Therapy.

Beginning/Intermediate Pilates Reformer

Beginning/Intermediate Pilates Reformer This class is designed for individuals with no prior Pilates Reformer experience or those with limited experience who want to master the basics.
