Celebrate your notable event in a meaningful way. Finding a unique and meaningful way to celebrate a milepost in the life of an organization is important to any CEO, executive director or committee chair heading up that notable event. Many organizations, schools, hospitals or businesses want to celebrate in a way that truly tells not only the history of the organization, but conveys the emotion as well. Telling the story of your organization through the words of those who experienced it is a compelling way to capture this moment in time and share what the organization has meant to those who have been involved over the years. The idea of combining storytelling with captivating photography and offering it in a high quality book to your supporters, colleagues and volunteers offers just the right touch.

❝The idea of celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts through story telling in a book, captured our imagination.❞ – Nancy Renkes, VP Development, Girl Scouts Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois

Milepost Ventures works with professional photographers, designers, web developers and editors to produce a quality publication that supports your brand and tells your story in such a way that readers will want to dive into every page. Photography can be arranged “on location” or pre-designated sites that best reflect the overall look and message you are trying to convey. We work together with your team to prepare a publishing process that works best for you.

❝From start to finish, the process was organized, yet flexible. Milepost Ventures was professional and patient all through the process. ❞ – Joanne Wzontek, Girl Scout EIWI, Waterloo Office Manager.

Book projects can utilize our web development services for designing and setting up web pages that can help in the story registration process, selecting photo seating, selling books and collecting donations. The book project for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois utilized both a web process and phone and mail process (handled by their staff). Stories were submitted in conjunction with a donation.

Milepost Ventures can customize this process for your organization and help you decide what will work best for your organization.

We also offer social media page development and posting services.

❝ We worked with our service units, using them as “focus groups” and adjusted our process and pricing as we went along. It worked out well. ❞ – Nancy Renkes, VP Development, Girl Scouts Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois

Quality photography is key to your project. We listen to those who are telling the story, utilize items and props that they want to help convey their message.

❝ I was at a couple of the photo sessions. The Milepost Ventures folks did a great job of interacting with our staff and supporters who had a story to tell. ❞ – Emma Garvin, Development Team GSEIWI, Dubuque, Iowa

Milepost Ventures will work with you to find creative ways to tell the history of your organization, school or business. With the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, it was their desire to combine both the rich history of their national organization

with the personal, regional and local history that their supporters would appreciate. We decided to utilize a timeline approach that incorporated historical photographs from the national organization and from the regional archives. We also localized the history with

a board message, “forewords” from their council chair and CEO. In addition we used a piece about Lou Henry Hoover (President Hoover’s wife) with a dedication from her great granddaughter, Margaret Hoover, well known commentator and author.

❝ We loved the idea Milepost had to convey our national and regional heritage in a time line and through a dedication. It is an easy and compelling read. ❞ – Ann McGlynn, GSEIWI Communications Director.

It was our privilege to work with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois on this unique, personal history and their celebration of 100 years of leadership in Girl Scouts. We loved working with their staff and meeting those wonderful women who had such great stories to tell. Milepost Ventures would like to wish the Girl Scouts of America a happy 100th birthday. Being a former Girl Scout myself and a female business owner, I can truly say that Girl Scouts makes a big difference in the lives of women. Thank you for all you do.
