WEEKEND EDITION
Organ Committee Update Angel Tree: A Program of Prison Fellowship It has been an exciting few weeks for the cghmch gurdh ehillting. They tyi hwchuu and wessty. Whith tohlm blah and this is nothing but filler type to provide an example of how a story about the organ would be placed on the page. Who ever is using this template can fill in the stories here and then use “filler” to complete the space as needed. Fillers can be selected from a file of Christian fillers that can be used when they are needed. This is a great way for someone to use a template and then incorporate images and stories as needed in order to keep the page clean and make it easier to find items within the Expressions each week. Organizing the Expressions will be very important, so to start, outline the various types of articles then rank them in importance within the publication.
Angel Tree seeks to reconcile prisoners and their families to God, to each other, and to their communities through the transforming love and grace of Jesus Christ. Signing up for the Angel Tree gives prisoners a way to send their children not only a Christmas gift, but also the reassurance of their love We are seeking four volunteers to make phone calls and deliveries. If you are interested in helping there is a sign up sheet on the display board in the narthex. If you have any questions, please contact Bonnie Sharp at 424-5806 or 343-6261.
Helping The Hungry in Bettendorf $20 Turkey Gift Cards
Each Christmas our church provides an additional gift for those less fortunate in the Bettendorf community. One of the ways you can participate is donating $20 toward purchasing a turkey gift card. Our goal this year is to donate 150 turkey gift cards. They will be distributed with food baskets prepared by the Bettendorf Chaplaincy department. You can place checks in the offering plate. Please note that you would like it put toward a turkey gift card.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE OSLC LIBRARY Jesus on Trial: A Lawyer Affirms the Truth of the Gospel by David Limbaugh. His analysis of the text becomes profoundly personal as he reflects on his own spiritual and intellectual odyssey from determined skeptic to devout Christian.
I’ll Bring the Chocolate:
Satisfying a Woman’s Craving for Friendship and Faith by Karen Porter. Chocolate is the sweet something extra that infuses anything ordinary with delectable flavor and zest. In the same way loving friendships can sweeten a woman’s life and make almost any situation—good or bad— taste even better. Blending true stories and several original chocolate recipes with rich, Biblical examples, Karen Porter explores eight ways
that friends can help one another enjoy life—and point each other to the God who made every good and perfect gift—especially chocolate! The Yellow Packard by Ace Collins (fiction). After George Hall buys a used 1936 Packard, a myriad of good future comes his way. That is, until his daughter is kidnapped and he’s falsely accused of a crime!
