Dear Potential Supporters, The past school year was a big one for us. We reached 76 active matches. In this school year we made 37 new, matches. Our excellent Adult/Child matches participated in all sorts of wonderful things together: a demonstration by the McDonough County Sheriff’s K-9 unit, a rocket science activity with the University of Illinois Extension, a “Money Matters” activity with Citizens Bank, and an International Bazaar held for us by Peace Corps volunteers. We also decorated Halloween pumpkins and made Christmas wreaths at two local retirement homes. We saw matches perform community service, Board members help to build the program, and tons of involvement from sponsors and donors all over our service area. What we do is truly a grassroots and team effort. Our program is growing in Bushnell, we’re working on opening the program in Roseville, and we’re stronger in Macomb than anyone could have imagined. Our annual survey of teachers showed 51% of the 96 kids we served in this past year improved their grades, and 61% improved in self-confidence. On the national scene, our region (Mississippi

Valley) was awarded the Gold Standard designation putting us in the top 5% of all BBBS affiliates nationwide for program delivery. Now that’s something the entire team can be proud of! BBBS is making a REAL difference in our area, shaping future leaders every day. We offer a variety of sponsorship opportunities, all of which can be customized to you or your company. I hope you will become part of the team and help us to continue to grow, reach more kids, and change lives for the better forever. Pete Tarantola, Program Director Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren and McDonough Counties
