Let’s PLAY BALL! In the fall of 2018, the YMCA OF GREATER RICHMOND
took over operations of The Miracle League of Richmond. Since then, we have continued the Miracle League’s mission to serve children with diverse physical abilities and special needs, providing them a unique chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere. On a completely accessible field, players take turns hitting the ball, fielding and throwing, just like the real game. Each participant is paired with one of our volunteers to provide any assistance that the player may need throughout the game. Thanks to the Miracle League at the YMCA OF GREATER RICHMOND, everyone is given an opportunity to experience the joys and benefits that come from playing baseball.

Back Back A Brighter BEGINNING
The YMCA knows that students who are set for success at the start of the school year are better able to meet their goals. Through our Bright Beginnings program, students are given the supplies they will need throughout the year. Our corporate partners and members donate backpacks stuffed with the necessary materials, and still more children are taken for a shopping spree to grab necessities like back-toschool outfits, shoes, socks, underwear, jackets and more, as well as a backpack full of their necessary school supplies.
OPEN TO ALL YMCA OF GREATER RICHMOND IMPACT REPORT 2018
OUR MISSION: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. YMCA OF GREATER RICHMOND
DEAR FRIENDS, 2018 was a momentous year for the Y! From the re-opening of our renovated facilities in Northside and Petersburg to our Power Scholars and after school childcare growth, the Y is on an amazing trajectory. These milestones are in addition to the great work the Y continues to do in all our programs, whether it’s teaching kids to swim, camping opportunities, teen programs or working with seniors; at the Y we’re doing amazing things to make our community a stronger better place to live! All of this wouldn’t be possible without you, our dedicated volunteers, donors, community partners and staff. Space in this report isn’t adequate to share everything we’re doing day in and day out, but I hope it gives you a sense of the profound impact the Y delivers. We’re off to a terrific start in 2019 and I’m confident I will be able to report back to you next year on all the good works we continue to do for the greater Richmond Community. Thank you again for all that you do.
