CONN ECTED
Women’s Conference / Together Not Alone / October 18-19, 2013 / Bethel Sarnia
WHEN WOMEN COME TOGETHER AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN! Whether in a restaurant over coffee, in a small group setting, or a woman’s gathering, women relate to stories, feelings, and life processes. Women become stronger and richer in their faith when they feel connected with other women. Women have the ability to resonate, encourage, enrich and empower one another, especially when grounded in the truth of God’s Word! A dynamic planning team, who love to connect with other women, have worked for 10 months, to plan a special conference for women appropriately called: CONNECTED! This conference is for you, your friends and the teen girls in your life. It’s time for that long awaited weekend away! It’s time to connect! Our plenary speaker, Carol Kent, comes with a message that you will not forget. Our breakout speakers come from all walks of life, with life experiences that will encourage and enrich you. Our worship leader and guest vocalist will be amazing. This will be a life-empowering conference.
FEATURED WOMEN
CAROL KENT - KEYNOTE SPEAKER Carol Kent is a popular international speaker, best known for being dynamic, encouraging, Biblically sound and humorous. Carol has authored several books including: “When I Lay My Isaac Down”, “A New Kind of Normal” and “Between a Rock and a Grace Place.” Carol’s remarkable story and messages will encourage you to be deeply connected to Christ and to faith-building friends. Once you hear Carol, you will believe that God works to bring good out of the deep hard places of life.
JANETTE ROUTLEY - WORSHIP LEADER Janette is a gifted singer, songwriter and worship leader who serves as the Worship & Creative Arts director at Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly. Her profound love of Jesus is evident as she leads others into His presence.
PAULIS SANCHEZ - WORSHIP EXPERIENCE “A Columbian-Canadian”, Paulis is a vocalist in demand in North and South America. She brings an audience alive with her rich blend of urban soul and Latin praise. Paulis will lead us in a worship experience you will not want to miss!
BREAKOUT SPEAKERS THE NEXT CHAPTER OF YOU By Margaret Gibb, Founder and Director of Women Together - Like all women, we ask ‘what’s next?’ when facing change. We know that there has to be more, but how do we get there? What happens within as we emerge from the circumstances of change is more important than the change itself. Margaret will lead this breakout with Biblical clarity and practical application.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR WALK WITH THE LORD FLOURISHING DURING TIMES OF DROUGHT By Lisa Elliott - How do you keep your walk with the Lord fresh and alive and bearing fruit during times of drought (Jer. 17:7,8)? Lisa Elliott will vulnerably share how her relationship with God came to life through her son’s death. She will provide valuable insights and practical tips from a life-changing perspective that will challenge and change the way you invest in and nurture your times spent with the Lord.
WHO AM I? By Annette Miner - Do you find yourself questioning God about who you are? If so, you are not alone. We all have identity scripts that we have gathered from our early life experiences that collectively tell us who we are. Unfortunately, far too often we begin to believe that “what” has happened to us in our past… is “who” we are. Come to this breakout session and learn what God has to say about your identity. It is in knowing this truth that you will find freedom. It is God’s desire that you become all He has created you to be!
THE SKINNY ON BEING SKINNY By Natalie Packer - Do you struggle with your body image and self-esteem? Natalie Packer struggled the same way, until she came face-to-face with a loving, forgiving, gracious God on the verge of death and now shares how hope springs anew in her life. She will share her story and the skinny on being skinny, a plea for God to help each of His creations appreciate their uniqueness.
GIVE ME GRACE: UNDERSTANDING AND OVERCOMING GRACELESSNESS IN MOMMYHOOD By Melissa Sharpe - Do you struggle with your calling of being a mom and always failing? Melissa will be speaking to moms about the roadblocks that can trip us up from giving and receiving grace.
BREAKOUT SPEAKERS THE TRUTH ABOUT SEX & DATING By Sarah Montes - The truth about sex and dating seems like a BIG question, well that is because it is! What is the Truth? What’s ok? What’s not ok? When to date? Why to date? As a young woman, it’s a scary and exciting thought! As a parent, well it’s just scary! Media says do it, the younger the better! Schools promote it, with super heroes like “captain condom”, churches don’t talk about it… So what are we to do?
TAKING OFF THE BANDAGE By Elaine Olson - Have you ever wondered ‘Why do I do the things I don’t want to do and the things I want to do, I do not do?’ When we’ve been hurt by others, we often find ourselves reacting out of our pain, instead of responding out of love. In this personal discovery breakout session, participants will consider the bandages of approval, achievement, perfectionist tendencies (and others) that often conceal the unhealed wounds of the past.
