Dear Bethel Intercessors -
Thank you for your faithful commitment to prayer at Bethel. What a blessing it is for people in our church to know that they have a place to share their prayer needs and that there are people praying for them. Your prayers are so important and make a difference. As you have heard over the last year, we have seen many answers to prayer. I am so pleased to announce that Mary Carr has agreed to serve as the Prayer Leader at Bethel. Her role will be to send you regular encouragements and to communicate with you when we have any special prayer initiatives at Bethel. Mary has also selected a team of people to help her in this new role (see team to right). This team, along with Mary, will also be giving leadership to our pre-service prayer times that take place 30 minutes before every service in the Prayer Room behind the stage in the Main Auditorium. Please know that your participation in these pre-service prayer times is welcomed and desired. We notice that the blessing of God in our services are often determined by the level of pre-service prayer. Mary and her team will also be planning some special prayer initiatives in the coming months. The main church office will still receive the individual prayer requests that come in and will pass them on to the Intercessor’s prayer team. Thank you for your encouragement to Mary as she takes on this new role. I know she will be a blessing to our church and all of us as Intercessor’s in the days and months to come. We welcome you to join the Prayer Team at Bethel. As a prayer team member, you will receive by email, the prayer requests that come to the church office, along with prayer encouragements from our Prayer Leader, Mary Carr, and her team members. You will also be informed of special prayer initiatives at Bethel. To be a part of the Prayer ministry at Bethel, please contact the church office with your name and email.
PRAYER LEADERSHIP TEAM Mary Carr is providing leadership to our Prayer ministry at Bethel. Assisting her in this are: Louie Debrum, Ken Tosh, Pam Lozon, Mojisola Obiri, Derek Shannon and Jessica Campbell.
PRAYER TIMES AT BETHEL Our current church prayer times are Wednesday evenings from 6PM to 7PM in the Main Auditorium and then 30 minutes before the Sunday morning and evening services in the Prayer Room (room behind main stage). Everyone is gladly welcomed to participate in these prayer times. Other special prayer times throughout the year will be announced.

PASTORAL CARE AT BETHEL
I am so appreciative of the support that Pastor Keith and Patricia Patrick provide in their role in Pastoral Care at Bethel, along with the support of our Elders. In discussions with Pastor Keith and Patricia and the Elders, we agreed that we desire to grow in this
area of Pastoral care and to see stronger connections with the body at Bethel. It truly is impossible for one Pastor or Pastoral team or even group of Elders to regularly make connections with everyone who calls Bethel their church home. And as we grow, this becomes even more an issue. Our desire is that everyone at Bethel feel loved and cared for and feels connected to the Body. In order to be more effective in this desire, we have recently established a Pastoral care system. This system provides each Elder with a list of people and families at Bethel, so that everyone we know of at Bethel is on a list. Each Elder has enlisted a team of 5 to 6 people who will assist them. Their role is to make a contact, from time to time, with
everyone in our church to simply make a connection, to celebrate any significant events, and to provide any prayer or pastoral support. The goal here is simply to connect and to know that each person and family at Bethel is genuinely loved and valued. So when you get a call from one of our Elders or a Pastoral team leader, please know that our heart is simply to reach out to you in love and care.
WELCOMING OUR GUESTS Every week at Bethel we have guests. Some are from out of town visiting family or simply our church. But we always have some from our local community who are looking for a church home or investigating church. We do have a real opportunity to reach people every Sunday right in our own church. In order to be more effective in meeting and getting to know our guests, we are now having our Cafe as a Welcome Centre and Guest Reception immediately following the morning service. The Cafe is open now before every service for everyone with free coffee, tea and small treat. But after the
morning service, the Cafe is now reserved as a Guest reception for our visitors. Our Welcome and Greeting teams have been instructed to help in directing our visitors to the Cafe following the service. But this is also a responsibility for everyone at Bethel to welcome our guests. First, may I encourage you, when you see someone new, please take the initiative and introduce yourself to them. We generally all sit in the same section week by week, so you will know when someone is new. Welcome those new around you. Get to know them. Ask if they have any questions. Invite them to the Cafe after the service. Second, if you bring a guest to church, please invite and accompany them to the Cafe after the service. We would love for you to introduce your guest to our Welcome team and Pastors. Let us all strive to do our best to make Bethel the most loving and welcoming church community. Pastor Tim Gibb
