ENCOUNTER SERVICES WITH NATHAN MORRIS

What exciting services we had at Bethel Sarnia with Evangelist Nathan Morris and Worship Leader Lydia Marrow! The crowds grew each night and final night the church was packed. We had people come to be a part of these Encounter services from places like London, Leamington, Toronto, Kitchener, Kingston, Owen Sound, New York, Florida, Nova Scotia. One native couple came to the meetings from Moosenee, Ontario - a 17 hour trip by train and car! Two people from London, who did not have their own transportation, rented a taxi to come from London to Sarnia for the meetings. As well, many Pastors from South Western Ontario also came to be a part of the meetings. In addition, we averaged over 150 online viewers for each of the services. There was such a strong sense of God’s presence in all 3 meetings. Nathan preached with

passion and fire! He declared that the lines of separation between the church and the influence of worldly culture need to be redrawn. His messages were calls to repentance and being fully devoted to the cause of Christ. It was a call to make the presence of God our greatest priority. And a call to get back to the power of the Gospel which includes the accompanying signs and wonders.

place in the nation of Canada for Nathan Morris and Shake the Nations ministries. We also believe it will not be Nathan’s last time with us!

The result of the meetings were many salvations, healings and marked deliverances from strongholds, in particular drug addiction. There was a tangible sense of God’s presence in each service that only increased as the services progressed. We believe that these meetings with Nathan were in the plan of God for Bethel. It is not without significance that Bethel is the first

ukraine missions report September 25th - october 7th, 2013

On September 25th, 2013, Bethel sent its second missions team in 2013 to the nation of Ukraine. The purpose of this trip was to minister at a men’s and women’s conference, a pastor’s conference, and in various churches. From Bethel were nine members, including: Pastor Tim Gibb, David & Jeanette Strevel, Laureen Elliot, Grace Celaire, Mary MacDonald, Donna Taylor, Barb Ring, and Missionary Mike Kerychuk. Joining Bethel were 4 members from the ministry of Women Together, led by Pastor Tim’s mother Margaret Gibb. These were: Margaret Gibb, Pat Klein, Bonnie Pioveson and Pastor Ray Narula from New City Church in Brantford, Ontario. We arrived in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine, on Thursday, September 26. After a brief to her of downtown keys, we enjoyed our first Ukrainian meal together. That evening we stayed at a local Bible college. The next day we drove to the city of Poltava, Ukraine. That evening we had a service with worship teams from different churches in the city. Pastor Tim spoke that night on “The Glory of the Lord filling the Temple” from 2 Chronicles 5. On Saturday, September 28, our combined team was divided with the men and the women. The women led a women’s conference with main and breakout sessions, while the men held the their own conference. We ended the day join the men and women together for a time of worship. On Sunday, September 29, the team was divided into four to visit for area churches. We got a wonderful taste of both city and village churches in Ukraine. That afternoon Pastor Tim spoke at the main church, Good News Church, in Poltava speaking on the subject: “A Word in Due Season.” On Monday, we visited a large warehouse that the good news church in Pope, recently purchased. Though there is much work to be done, the vision the church has for that warehouse is even greater. The rest of the week we spent visiting area churches, village churches, orphanages, and nursing homes.

The nurses on our team were able to speak with local health workers in these areas. On Thursday and Friday, we were in the city of Krivvy Rog, where we ministered at a pastor’s conference for the two days. It was powerful to see the hunger in the hearts of pastors and Christian workers for the presence of God. While in Krivvy Rog, we were also able to visit an orphanage of 200 youth and children. The director of the orphanage approach Pastor Tim very enthusiastically, asking for Bethel to send a team with Pastor Tricia to come and work in the orphanage for two weeks teaching the children the Word of God. At the orphanage, we definitely saw the need but we also saw the great opportunity for our church to get involved in future missions. On Saturday, October 5, the woman remained in Krivvy Rog to lead a women’s conference, while Pastor Tim and the men drove to the city of Smila and that evening held the service in a local theater. Smila is the community where Bethel has provided the finances to purchase land and to construct a church building. What a joy it was to stand on the construction site and to see the building being in progress of construction. On Sunday, the women’s team was divided into two groups and ministered in two different churches in Krivvy Rog. While the men’s team in Smila, were also divided into two teams ministering to area churches. That afternoon, the women drove to Smila, and there joined the men for the final service of our time in Ukraine. This is the service were Pastor Tim preached in Smila and live streamed the service back to Bethel church in Smila. This trip was truly wonderful experience for all who participated. Each one was touched by the hunger in the Ukrainians hearts for the presence of God. There is much opportunity in Ukraine for Bethel church in missions we ask you to prayerfully consider if the Lord would call you to join in a ministry team to Ukraine in 2014.

LET’S MAKE A DEAL! - Pastor Tim Gibb

In the book of Exodus, we see God’s purpose is to bring the people of God out of Egyptian bondage and into a Promised Land that flows with abundance and blessing. Moses, God’s great deliverer and a type of Christ, is called of God to lead the people out. Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt and a type of our adversary the devil, has other plans. Of course, our adversary the devil, like Pharaoh of old, seeks to keep people in bondage and never come into the freedom that Christ came to bring. ‘Let My People Go’ was the declaration of God through Moses to Pharaoh. So today, God’s will is for all his children to walk in freedom and blessing, and out of slavery and bondage. However, the enemy does not relent easily. Like the game show host Monty Hall, he always wants to play ‘Let’s Make a Deal!”. When Moses came to Pharaoh with the declaration of freedom, Pharaoh sought to get Moses and the people of God to negotiate and to compromise. We see it clearly in 4 strategic areas:

Deal #1 - “You can worship your God, but stay right here in Egypt” (See Exodus 8:25) This is a deal the devil tries to strike with many today. Oh, you can go to church on Sunday but stay living in Egypt the rest of the week. Far too many Christian people

today have never really come out of the bondages of Egypt (the world). Too many never have fully realized the victory that is already theirs through Christ. The devil has convinced them that they can worship God, but remain in the place of bondage. However, Galatians 5:1 declares “Stand fast in the freedom in which Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled with the yoke of bondage.” God did not send His son to the cross to endue the suffering and secure

Tragically we have lost a generation to the devil. But I love Moses reply in Exodus 10:9 “We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters…” Joshua picks this position up in Joshua 24:15 when he says “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Parents never give up believing for your children. Don’t make a deal with the devil for your kids! How many testimonies I have heard over the years of people who came back to the Lord and said, “I am saved

Deal #2 - “You can worship your God, but don’t go very far.” (See Exodus 8:28)

Deal #4 - “You can worship your God, but let your flocks and herds be kept back” (Exodus 10:24)

our redemption for us to remain in bondage (Egypt). For who the Son sets free, is free indeed. No deal devil!

This is a deal the devil makes with many. Go ahead and get born again. But just don’t get radical! Don’t get so excited! Don’t get that Holy Spirit baptism! You can worship, but don’t go very far! This is a lie of the devil to try to neutralize the believer into apathy and an ineffective Christian life. No deal devil!

Deal #3 - “You can worship your God, but leave your children in Egypt” (See Exodus 10:8,11) This is a deal that the devil tries to make with many today. “You can worship your God, but your children stay with me in Egypt.”

today because of a praying Mom and Dad.” When it come to our children, declare to the Devil “No deal!”

What was the significance of the flocks being kept back? It was their income and their sacrifice (offerings) to the Lord. This is the final deal the devil tries to make with the people of God - to keep them in a place of financial lack and poverty. Moses declared “Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind.” What was the result? Psalm 105:37 states “He (God) brought them out with silver and gold and there was none feeble among them.” Declare to the devil today who seeks to devourer your finances and steal your offerings….”No deal!”
