Bible Studies This Fall This Month

BETHEL NEWS

Choir Do you enjoy singing, the Christmas season and connecting with great people? Then Bethel Choir is for you!! Choir season resumes in preparation for the Christmas season. The first two practices will be on Thursday nights, October 8th and 15th, at 7PM to 8:30PM. Then the remaining practices will be held on Wednesdays, beginning October 21st until December 16th. Val Tosh will be providing leadership. Sign-up at the Welcome Desk.

Heaven’s Gates Hell’s Flames The drama Heaven’s Gates Hell’s Flames will be presented on the evenings of Saturday Oct. 24th and Sunday Oct. 25th. We are in need of help to build a stage and for actors. Auditions and assignment of parts will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22nd with practices on Friday evening Oct. 23rd and Saturday morning Oct. 24th. Sign-Up at Welcome Desk.

Living Nativity Bethel will be presenting a 25 minute living nativity production at the Celebration of Lights opening ceremony on Saturday, November 21st at 6PM. We are looking for those to help us build the set and for actors and singers. Please contact the Church Office if interested or speak to Pastor Tim or Kira-Jade Nixon. Audition times will be provided.

Baby to Teen Bonanza Fundraiser Baby to Teen Bonanza Sarnia will be holding their next consignment fundraising sale at Bethel on Saturday, October 3rd from 8:30AM-12Noon. This is a bi-annual fundraiser for Lambton County Christian Academy (www.lambtoncountychristian. ca). For more information about the school, please see the website or if you want to participate contact Cindy Coates (519-344-3283). For sale will be Baby to Teen needs such as clothing, toys, bedding, footwear, DVD’s, books, games, furniture, strollers, etc.

GLOBAL WORKERS

Bethel is pleased to partner with dedicated missionaries around the world who are bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in neighbourhoods and nations through evangelism and humanitarian outreaches.

ILYA & JANET BANTSEEV Mission Field: SIBERIA RUSSIA Bethel Support: $6,000

The Bantseevs are pastoring a church of approximately 1,000 people in Novokuznetsk, a city of 600,000 people. Their congregation ministers in prisons, orphanages, and to people with life controlling problems or addictions primarily through the ministry of Teen Challenge, of which Ilya serves as national director.

MATI & JULIE GALI Mission Field: BRAZIL Bethel Support: $2,000 The Gali’s give leadership to the YWAM Base in Recife, Brazil. This Base receives young adults from around the world to be trained in discipleship and outreach. Outreaches at the Recife Base include ministering to street kids, a soccer program, a program for neighbourhood moms, and a day school.

MIKE KERYCHUK Missions Field: SOUTHEAST ASIA Bethel Support: $2,000 “Bishop Mike”, as he is affectionately called, is based in Thailand but serves in various nations and projects in South East Asia. Mike brings the Gospel to people through the humanitarian outreaches including feeding programs and building houses for the homeless.

ED & NATASHA DICKSON Missions Field: Ukraine Bethel Support: $6,000 Children: Regina, Amy, Michelle Ed Dickson has been serving in Ukraine for almost 20 years. It is in Ukraine that he met his wife, Natasha. Their ministry includes bringing help and hope to orphans and working with local churches and pastors. While their primary work is in Ukraine, the Dicksons also provide ministry in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Jordan.

RAY & MARGI BRADBURY Mission Field: ARGENTINA Bethel Support: $3,000

The Bradbury’s, along with their son Jeff, pastor The Potter’s Hands church in an area in Buenos Aires, Argentina known as “The Congreso”, just blocks from the nations capital building. There are hundreds of thousands of people in their immediate area that need the Gospel. The Bradbury’s ministry is strong in teaching, music, and evangelism.

MARK & SHARON DAVY Mission Field: AFRICA Bethel Support: $2,000 The Davy’s are missionary evangelists. Along with a heart for revival for the Canadian church, the Davy’s conduct mass Gospel crusades in many North African nations such as the Congo, Sudan, Uganda, with thousands coming to Christ in every crusade. The Davy’s have a ministry base centre in Northern Uganda.

DON & MARIE-JOSE MANN Mission Field: SOUTH AFRICA Bethel Support: $2,000 The Mann’s have 3 focuses in their ministry. First is the establishment of the Centre for Leadership Integrity (CLI). The vision of CLI is to raise up integritydriven leadership across Africa. Second, Chitenge Creations is a microenterprise sewing project that provides African women with sustainable business opportunities. Third, is Bridging China & Africa - an outreach to the thousands of Chinese who are living and working in African nations.

DARREN & PATTY MCCREA Mission Field: COLOMBIA Bethel Support: $2,000 The McCrea’s work in Colombia includes missionary training & church mobilization which involves organizing community & medical outreaches. They also receive ministry teams from Canada to be involved in evangelism outreaches in schools, shopping malls, & other public venues. Through their outreaches, they touch the lives of thousands of people every year.

LOCAL MINISTRIES Bethel is not only a supporter of Global missionary efforts, but is active in partenering with local ministries who are making a difference in people’s lives our own community of Sarnia & Lambton county.

BOB & MAGDA EMBERLEY Mission Field: YWAM BASE TEXAS Bethel Support: $2,000 The Emberley’s are currently serving as team leaders at the YWAM Base in Texas. Their ministry includes taking Christian teams of young adults to troubled areas of the world including Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. Their mission is to present the Gospel through education, humanitarian support, and one-onone evangelism.

LAMBTON CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTRE Bethel Support: $3,500 The Sarnia Pregnancy Centre provide services to women, teens, their partners and parents to make decisions in regards to unplanned pregnancy.

NeighbourLink Sarnia-Lambton is a network of over 25 local Christian churches that bridges the needs of individuals in the community with available resources through love in action, education and advocacy

Bethel provides support to Lambton College through the support of chaplaincy and also working with the International Office in providing welcome kits to foreign students and a welcome dinner.
