COMING THIS MONTH
BETHEL NEWS REVO PARENT NIGHT For the parents of our Senior High students, a special information night with Pastor Brock is being held on Thursday September 13th at 7PM in the Gym. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about the youth ministry, up-coming events and to answer any questions you, as a parent, may have.
MEMBERSHIP Do you desire to become an official member at Bethel? Membership classes will be held on Sunday October 14th and 21st at 9:30AM in our Community Room. Both classes are required. If you are not able to make a class, speak to the church office. Sign-up by calling the office.
RESTORATION RETREAT The next Restoration Retreat is planned for November 2nd & 3rd. The Foundation Class, a requirement for those who have never been on the Restoration Retreat, is Sunday October 28th at 6:30PM in the Community Room.
KEENAGERS Our next Keenagers event is planned for Friday October 19th. It will be a lunch followed by a concert with Gospel Artist Joan Elliot.

MEET JENNIFER WINKLMEIER Hi there Bethel Family! I’m so honored and excited to be working with the children at Bethel Church. Jesus loves the little children! So where have I been? 3 years ago, we were living a very content life, full of family and friends in Edmonton, Alberta, but with a thought that there was more. We read the autobiography “God Smuggler” as a family, and as we read about Brother Andrew’s bold faith and him taking a step of “Yes” for God, we as a family joined hands in our living room and took a step of “Yes”. We said “Yes” to God before He told us what He wanted. Within 6 months we had moved our family cross country to Sarnia, and a few months after arriving started attending Bethel Church. Where am I now? Again this past spring I felt the Father leading me down a new path. I was content and comfortable being a stay-at-home mom of 4 when the thought flitted across my mind to apply for the Children’s Pastor role. Although I have never been a Children’s Pastor before, I realized I had been prepared for this role: dealing with kids in crisis as a Registered Nurse, being a mom of 4
kids, volunteering in the school, leading a small group of girls at AWANA, teaching Sunday School, and going on short term missions. God has been slowly growing a passion for children in me that has been uncovered for this moment in time.
I invite you to come and see this vision realized, by joining me in either the Nursery, Toddler Room, Preschool Room, or Kidsplosion (grades 1-4).
Where am I going? I see Children’s Ministry as a training ground to raise up warriors in the Kingdom of Heaven. The building blocks of this training ground are: encountering God, teaching the Word of God, memorizing scripture, covering our children with prayer, and giving them a global missions perspective. This is an equipping ground to help our children realize God is good all the time, and the blood of Jesus has paid for everything. They don’t have to wait to grow up to be valuable in the Kingdom of God. They were created to live a supernatural lifestyle in the power of the Holy Spirit. Right now, as a child, they can be filled with the Holy Spirit and operate in His gifts. They can receive prophetic words or pictures to encourage others. They can pray for the sick and see them recover. They can learn the Word of God and hide it in their hearts.
Jennifer Winklmeier has joined our Bethel Ministry Staff for a one year contract as our Children’s Pastor. We welcome Jennifer to this new role. If you are interested in being involved in Children’s Ministry or have any questions, you can contact Jennifer at jennifer@bethelsarnia.com.

WORD FROM PASTOR TIM In January of 2016, our church went through a study called Transformed Life. Transformed Life was a 7 week study on the first 3 chapters of the book of Ephesians with an emphasis on our identity in Christ. We used a devotional book and small group videos from Christian author and Pastor, Dave Smith from London U.K. That series proved to be one of the best message and small group series we have ever done at Bethel. We had so many reports of how people were blessed by it. If you were not a part of that message series, I would highly recommend you get the devotional book Transformed Life that we used in that series. It is available at the Giving Kiosk for $10. Dave Smith has recently released a follow-up study. It is on the last 3 chapters of the book of Ephesians and it is called Transformed Living. Where the previous study focused on our identity with Christ, this series deals more with practical living for Christ. As before, this series includes a 50-day devotional book (available for $10) and small group lessons. I will be preaching messages each Sunday morning that will introduce the small group material for that week and also the devotional messages. We will begin this series on Sunday October 14th and will run for 7 weeks until the end of November. I want to encourage everyone at Bethel to get a Transformed Living devotional book and follow along with us each day. As well as, join a small group for the 7 weeks. I believe this will be a great opportunity to grow in the Word and in relationship with other believers at Bethel.
