BECCA BUDRO
BECCA BUDROCK My name is Becca Budrock, and I’m a junior at Fallsburg High School. I’ve been a part of Project: Identity since we formed in 2014. At the first coffeehouse, I performed two original poems, one of which had been turned into a song by one of our bands, Purpose of the Unwritten. Two of the biggest inspirations for my writing is bestselling author John Green and Edgar Allan Poe. Outside of Project: Identity, I’m the Fallsburg High School SADD chapter president and the winner of several medals in Science Olympiad. I’m so very excited to have been a part of Project: Identity Sessions this summer and fall.
ASIA CALABRESE-LEWIS Hey, my name’s Asia. I’m a sixteen year old from Swan Lake, New York, and I go to Sullivan West High School. I have participated in Project: Identity Photography this spring and have been to many of the Project: Identity Sessions. I like to consider myself a jack of all trades, but my main thing is singing, playing guitar, and making people happy. PROJECT: IDENTITY SEASON FINALE

PROJECT: IDENTITY SESSIONS PARTICIPANTS
WILL COLPOYS Hi. My name is Will Colpoys. I’m an artist. I like to draw and sketch, I do digital design and photography, I use Photoshop and I’m just starting Flash animation. I’m also an actor and a comedian; I’ve been in many, many shows and musicals, often professionally done as well as locally (quite a few of them here at Bethel Woods) and at school. I won’t bore you with exactly how many, where, and when, but most of them were musicals. I’m a musician as well. I’m in my high school chorus, my local a Capella group and have partaken in several musical programs at Bethel Woods, as well as All County and NYSSMA. I play ukulele too. In my spare time I like to procrastinate, talk to my friends, and tell terrible jokes that Mark thinks are funny anyway. I go to Roscoe Central School.

LEAH JA COBSON
LEAH JACOBSON Hi! I’m Leah Jacobson, I’m a junior at Sullivan West High School in Lake Huntington, NY. I enjoy photography, as well as writing poems and short stories. I deem the creative arts as a rewarding way to express my thoughts and views on everyday life. Through my work I focus mainly on uncovering the deeper meaning behind anything that catches my eye. In the future I hope to expand my work in a way that can benefit and help others, and hopefully create a better alternative to coping with problems through the use of the creative arts. TRENT PIATEK
TRENT PIATEK My name is Trent Piatek. I am an avid guitarist and poet, and I enjoy making music of all types, although the majority my original work is heavy metal. I take heavy inspiration from classical artists such as Bach and Mozart, along with newer artists like Lamb of God and Make Them Suffer. I’m self-taught in every instrument I play including guitar, piano, bass, and vocals. I have performed at the Downtown Barn in Liberty, along with school performances and I’m in the process of forming a band to play my original music more often. 8

SCARLETT BRENNAN Stories have always been fun and entertaining to me, but also an escape from reality. Now, as a storyteller, I find that I can bring my imagination to life and bring other people into my fantasies and have them experience strong feelings. Whether I’m feeling joy, sadness, anger or any other emotion, storytelling is a part of all my life experiences.
TRUTH MULLER Give me a #2 pencil and I’ll go far. That’s all I ever really needed. I use the modest graphite-wood-and-flaky-yellow-paint-Ticonderoga because it does not do the work for me. I take pleasure in crafting a gallant hero or heinous villain, giving him form on the sketchpad and purpose in the loose-leaf notebook. I can create my own world. I can play with time, defy death on his own front stoop, direct a fearsome hurricane, manipulate for my crafted beings the things which trouble me most back in reality. I write for the planet, for nature, for wildlife, the things I hold most dear. PROJECT: IDENTITY SEASON FINALE

SAWYER QUICK Though I am an artist, I consider myself to be a sort of engineer. Rationalism and attention to detail are key parts of my character. Often, these characteristics show through in my artistic endeavors, whatever they may be. 12

ABOUT
PROJECT: IDENTITY SESSIONS
focused on bringing teens
together on a monthly basis to explore their creativity. In this safe and constructive creation space, teens worked in their chosen medium to collaborate and critique with fellow artists, socialize through collaborative and productive art making, and find empowerment by participating as both art makers and appreciators.

PROJECT: IDENTITY SEASON FINALE
ABOUT
PROJECT: IDENTITY
PROJECT: IDENTITY BEYOND THE BOOK teens have transformed their written memoirs into other art forms through collaborations with WJFF’s Youth Radio Project, NYC’s Dialogue Arts Project, and Wade Lawrence, Museum Director of the Museum at Bethel Woods. Through this exploration, teens questioned the idea of “genre”— how do the boundaries of genre create boundaries for individual expression? What happens when we question those boundaries or take those boundaries away? Project: Identity Beyond the Book challenged teens in the community to write about their own moment in time, to articulate their own place in the world, and to transform their own experiences into art.
