The 2017–18 Russel Family Challenge Grant made a tremendous difference in our ability to meet our goal to raise $980,000.00 for the Annual Campaign. celebrate Beth Tfiloh Congregation welcomed synagogues and Jewish organizations across Baltimore in honor of Israel’s 70th birthday. The Jewish community celebrated Yom HaAtzma’ut with music from Jewish rock band Soulfarm, craft stations for kids, a shuk (marketplace), fireworks display, and more. A ceremony was held in the Dahan Sanctuary honoring Israel’s brave soldiers.

he month of December was a sweeping success with regards to our Annual Campaign’s school participation initiative: pie— Participation Is Everything! Our overall school participation rate at the end of each year has historically been 45%. This year we began our initiative on November 28th, Giving Tuesday, at a starting participation rate of 29% and increased to an impressive 74% in just four weeks. In the weeks that followed pie’s kick off, we came together as a school community and showed our heartfelt support of our school and its need to become more unified in its fundraising efforts.

And it was a success! Not only did our school community reinforce the value of tzedakah within our community, we were able to demonstrate a strong level of commitment to the community, including major donors and foundations for whom parent participation is a significant motivating investment factor.

Participation Is Everything and it most certainly showed. This first year of our pie initiative will have a profound impact on the strength and our future success.

The Congregation’s endowment helps to maintain the affordability of our membership dues and High Holiday seat fees. This allocation also provides flexibility within the Congregation’s budget for the support of adult education, youth programming, religious services and many other important facets of Congregation life. The Congregation’s endowment is invested through the Community Investment Fund at the associated.

The School’s endowment provides much needed resources to enable the School to educate as many children as possible, while also maintaining the highest level of excellence in all curricular areas.
