The Associates of Science Degree Plan includes 39 Units within the Horse Science Major. Some of those units can also be used to satisfy General Education requirements. General Education plans vary depending on your academic and career goals. Those planning to transfer to a 4-year institution must complete specific G.E. transfer requirements. An Associate Degree opens doors to employment that a Certificate of Achievement does not. Many larger companies will not hire or promote employees that do not have a college degree. Completion of the Associates Degree can provide employment opportunities in Stable/Ranch Management, Equine Veterinary Assisting, Event Management, and Horse Industry Commercial businesses. It is excellent preparation for those starting their own horse industry business. If you already have or are earning an Associates or Bachelors degree from any accredited college in another major, you can receive a Horse Science Associates Degree without repeating the G.E. requirement.
