THEIR STORY the meeting

N

ate and Kelly met on July 18, 2010. Their mutual friend Pat Clancy had the two of them over for dinner. Nate had been golfing all day and had a memorable sunglasses tan - Kelly had been painting her house and had paint all over her that would not scrub off. The two had instant chemistry and started realizing how much they had in common. Nate invited Kelly and her friends downtown for a fun night in Wrigleyville and the rest is history.

O

the proposal

n May 18, 2012, Nate purposed on a memorable weekend in Chicago – the Nato Summit. He took Kelly to their first date location – Navy Pier. After a trip on the ferris wheel, dinner, and a round of mini golf Nate’s nerves got the best of him. He suggested walking back towards his apartment where they ran into his roommate Nick. Nick almost blew the surprise because he thought Nate already purposed – thank goodness he did not blow it. Not realizing the magnitude of all the heighted security in the city Nate decided to take Kelly to Millennium Park. While dropping to his knee to pop the big question a security guard jumped out of the bush! After laughter, tears, and shock Kelly said yes and the security guard went back in the bushes.

S

the wedding

t. Cyprian’s, the church Kelly and Nate are getting married in, has been a traditional for several of Kelly’s family members. Her parents were married there 32 years ago by the same priest, Fr. Cronin. She also has had 4 aunts and uncles married there, as well as her cousin last month. The couple is excited to keep the family tradition going. While in the planning stages, Kelly and Nate both agreed that they wanted a “fun” wedding location that was not your typical wedding hall. After endless bridal magazines and wedding wire reviews the couple decided on the Brookfield Zoo. They look forward to celebrating with the polar bears!

WEDDING PARTY BEST MEN Rich (pictured left) is Nate’s oldest brother. It seems like just yesterday that Rich would spend his summers watching The Price is Right while making Zack and Nate do all of the household chores. Even though Rich was blessed with a short stature he was quite the high school basketball player. Rich currently lives in Beaver Creek, OH with his wife, Shannon, and daughter, Mckenna. He works as Head of Quality at Dayton Phoenix.

Zack (pictured right) is the middle brother of the three Tanney boys. Growing up it seemed that there was no end to Zack’s talents. He played basketball, skated, played guitar, and was an avid car enthusiast. Over the past few years Zack and Nate have had many competitive rounds on the golf course. Zack is currently working as a programmer at ATI Physical Therapy and lives in Bolingbrook with his wife, Jess, and his daughter, Hayley.

GROOMSMEN Jason is Kelly’s older brother. Kelly and Nate could not be any prouder of him, Jason just returned in August from serving our country in Afghanistan. They are both so happy that he could make it home and share this big day with them! Jason is very glad to be home with his wife Meghan and his daughter Ayla; the three of them live in North Carolina.

Chris is Kelly’s oldest brother. He is a human movie data base – his knowledge of movies and actors is amazing! Some of his pastimes include reading, good scotch, and his two dogs Roxanne and Bernadette. Chris works at ISU and is currently pursuing his masters degree in history. He lives with his wife Nora in Normal, IL.

Nate met Bill early on in grade school. The Mulford and Tanney kids became very close and spent the summers together since they only lived a few blocks away. Their days consisted of basketball, swimming, and video games (rough life). All the basketball practice in the driveway paid off when the two boys played on the same basketball team in high school. Bill currently works for Mcgraw-Hill and resides in San Diego.

The first time Nate saw Pat was when they played against each other in 3rd grade in a basketball game. Fast forward six years and the two of them were playing on the same team as freshmen. Pat went to SNC with Kelly where they worked together in the admission office. Pat never forgets how he was the one who introduced Nate and Kelly during one of Nate’s many visits to their college. Pat is currently a tax lawyer and resides in Chicago.

Nate met Jay through Bill the summer before their freshman year of high school. They only lived three houses away from each other and spent a ton of time together. Jay and Nate car pooled together throughout high school even though it resulted in quite a few tardies for Nate. Jay lives in Bolingbrook with was wife, Kim, and their two sons, Jackson and Mason.

Nate met Rick on his first day of high school. Even though Rick is a diehard White Sox fan they still somehow formed a close friendship. THANK YOU

To our family and friends, You have honored us with your presence today. The friendship, laughter, shoulders to cry on, and the hands to hold that each of you have provided has enriched our lives. We would not be who we are today without you. As you have helped us grow as individuals, we ask for your support and guidance as we grow together as a couple. Thank you for sharing in this special day. To our dearest parents, Your love and caring goes beyond of what we can ever ask for. Who we’ve become, what we believe, and our excitement for our future together as a married couple has all come from your love and support. You have blessed us in many ways we cannot find words to express. Through your lives you have given us extraordinary examples of how to live, love, forgive, forget, and to go on. Through your lives you have given us all you could, and then amazingly, more. Thank you so very much for making this day possible. We love you with all of our hearts.
