Mobile Hygiene Pantry
F
or many parents and heads of households in our community, the struggle to afford household necessities takes an emotional toll on them and their families. These items are critical to preserve one’s sense of self-dignity and personal respect. It is getting increasingly difficult for many households to afford the basic necessities. Federal nutrition programs such as SNAP and WIC focus solely on food. Participants in these programs cannot use those benefits for personal hygiene items. Food pantries and meal providers do not have the means to offer other assistance, yet the humble request for something as simple as toilet paper is there. The new Carebag Mobile Hygiene Pantry is the first CMHP in the state of Florida. It was created to help bridge the gap for some of our local families. It serves Treasure Coast residents who have trouble affording basic non-food necessities that are considered critical to health and wellbeing. These include both personal care and baby care items. “We are very thankful for all of the local businesses and organizations that have partnered with us to make this happen,” stated Rozanne Brown, Founder and CEO. The list includes Public Defender’s Office, Lowe’s Store in Jensen Beach, Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market 7299 and 100 Women who Care Treasure Coast, Dyer Auto Group, Southern Eagle Distribution, Napa Auto Parts, Groza Builders, Two men & a Truck, FPL, Toshiba, Center State Bank, ECP Event Group, Tradition Town Hall, Southwestern Consulting, Waste Pro, Bonner Mobile Bar, McGarr Insurance, Sunshine Laundry, SpeedPro Imaging, Von Ohlen Team Panera, Tonya Lowe State Farm, St. Lucie Jewelry & Coins Treasure Coast Lexus Toshiba Business solutions Board Members left to right: Maygan Johnson, Tonya and many more. All of the distributions are done by referrals. The CMHP delivers products on the third Monday of each month from 10:00am-3:00pm to the referrals site.

Dear Readers, And we’re back! I am thrilled to see those signs, “We’re Open!” Let’s do the best we can, and be responsible for our own health while being respectful to others as well. Many of us had a lot of time to do things in and around the home over the past couple of months. In this issue, we are all-in on design. We welcome new advertisers and Treasure Coast Styles to help along the way. Life is certainly not for the faint of heart. There is a plaque that hangs on my office wall, “Courage is adversity’s lamp.” Let’s get cracking and have an amazing summer. While there may not be too many typical summer events scheduled, we do have two prominent days during the summer. Independence Day and Primary Elections. I close my eyes and pray. “Lord direct my thinking and give me words for I have a troubled heart.” It is so hard to see the violence & destruction imploding the country that I love. The country my father, brother,
son fought for. I am proud to be an American. I did not grow up with a silver spoon; in fact I did not grow up with much. But I had a family that loved me and worked hard. America gave that freedom to my grandparents and then so on. I am grateful that I have freedom, to have the opportunity of education, to work, to play, to think, to speak, to pray. Some may have more than others, I understand. Should we then hate? When we point a finger, we have 3 others pointed right back at ourselves. America, America, gives us opportunity like no other. I have immense respect for our military and our law enforcement. They defend, protect and risk their lives every day. Criminals and murderers go to jail, period. We have laws we have a justice system. We are a civilized people. We have the ability to articulate and intellectualize. Did you hear? Two wrongs do not make a right. Use your freedom, use your voice and vote the primaries on August 18th. I pray for peace and know in the end this will be reconciled … by God. I leave you with: Philippians 4:8 NIV 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” LET FREEDOM RING! Think about what would happen to them right now if something were to happen to you, for both the long term and the future. ith the current pandemic occurring, people are coming face to face with their own mortality, and realizing they need to plan for the worst. This goes for all of us, no matter our age. As you face your mortality, take an opportunity to learn what we need to do for the people that you love. I recently heard a tragic story from a young woman who recently lost her fiancé to COVID-19. Because she was not listed on her fiancé’s health directive and HIPAA waiver, she could not get any information on his condition from the hospital. Eventually, someone told her that he wasn’t in ICU anymore. While she was relieved, when she hadn’t heard anything else, she called again. She eventually learned that her fiancé wasn’t in the ICU, he had passed away the day before, and no one had told her. No one expects things like this to happen, especially if you are healthy and making plans for your future. H Happy Birthday America H THE BILL OF RIGHTS: A Transcription. The Preamble to The Bill of Rights Congress of the United States begun and held at the City of New-York, on Wednesday the fourth of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine. THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution. Note: The following text is a transcription of the first ten amendments to the Constitution in their original form. These amendments were ratified December 15, 1791, and form what is known as the “Bill of Rights.” AMENDMENT I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
AMENDMENT II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
AMENDMENT III
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
AMENDMENT IV

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

I was immediately reminded of all the chaos and pain we have and are experiencing. If there were ever a time for us to seek Godly wisdom it would be at times like these. God made us to be relational. His word says in Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” We were created to be relational. I know there are various opinions and feelings as to what is going on in our world today. And I know that God is watching and He knows how this is going to unfold. He is an all-knowing God. He knows but we don’t. This is where our faith is needed more than ever. My hope is that this article will plant seeds of love, grace and hope. Pain is uncomfortable, no one likes

pain. But life is full of pain. I have come to believe that God allows pain in my life for a reason. It’s His megaphone to a deaf world. I’m reminded of my dashboard in my car. When the warning lights for my engine temperature, or oil pressure light up, I can’t ignore them. If I do, I’ll find myself on the side of the road calling “AAA”. God allows pain, He doesn’t cause pain. Our bad choices are usually the cause of our pain or the choices of others can cause us pain. Here’s a very important point though. God turns our pain into good if we surrender to His direction. We can experience victory over our pain if we get connected to Him and stay connected to Him. We need to lift each other up, encourage one another in times like these. I know this article is a little different from my previous ones, but I feel that God is waiting for us to reach out and reconnect as a nation. We are “One Nation Under God” God Bless Pastor Mike
