Rick Nelson
Richard Mewha and Rick Nelson founded Bevel in 1999 to fill a niche in the eyewear industry with a modern, minimalist design esthetic and outstanding workmanship. The look is understated and timeless, free of distracting logos and ornamentation. Pick up a pair of Bevel glasses and immediately feel its quality. Put them on and appreciate the precise fit, making them incredibly comfortable and flattering. Once someone wears Bevel frames, they return again and again.

14 ACETATE
15
Unlike most of the industry, Bevel uses a high-quality acetate produced in Japan that is less prone to distortion and needing adjustments. The frame is hand polished, creating a rich luster. The Bevel color range is carefully chosen to flatter a range of skin tones. Bevel was the first to create BETAPLAST-a titanium core with an acetate overlay. Customers get the expressive color of acetate paired with the strength, lightness and comfort of titanium. In 2012, we have introduced a beta hinge to our acetates. A one-piece beta hinge extends through the core, adding flex and a very distinctive design detail.

18 SUN
19
Bevel brings its signature minimalist look and quality to sunglasses with Bevel SUN. For men and women, the ultramatte acetate frames are polished and individually sandblasted for a sexy tactile finish. In three shades, the lenses are CR39 polarized with a MAC 4AR and oleoph obic-hydrophobic treatment.

22 TITAN
23
Bevel milled pure titanium offers the lightest weight yet strongest frame possible so the glasses are secure and comfortable. The eyepiece is a single construction with no soldering for a modern, clean design. At Bevel, three individual coats of paint are applied to the frame, a very time consuming and costly process that produces exceptional color. In 2010, we added a beta hinge to the design, allowing for greater flexibility.
