Understand the world With conference and interpretation equipment from beyerdynamic you can overcome language barriers with the most innovative technology and ensure optimal understanding at an international level. At the same time, you can use the assistive listening systems in the original or foreign language. This fulfills the UN Disability Convention and laws on equal participation of disabled people in society and makes your event accessible. For people wearing hearing aids or cochlear implants (CI), an induction neck loop can be used instead of the headphone.

INTERPRETATION EQUIPMENT PRODUCT FAMILIES
SIS Interpretation System The intuitive-to-use SIS 1202 interpreter console is designed for two interpreters who take turns when translating. The double console is equipped with the EarPatronÂŽ hearing protection function from beyerdynamic. Through innovative technology EarPatronÂŽ is able to capture, evaluate and regulate the actual sound pressure level during the entire time of listening, to which the interpreter is exposed according to requirements of the OSH Act to prevent hearing loss. The system which is designed for up to 11 target languages can be expanded by cascading the control units.
Interpreter station for MCS-Digital conference system As part of the wired conference system, the MCS-D 202 interpreter stations are connected at any point in the conference system. Any number of MCS-D 202 for a maximum of 50 target languages can be used simultaneously per language and cabin. The conference participants select their language with the channel selector switch on their station.
Synexis radio interpretation system and mobile interpretation whispering system The versatile Synexis system is used for two kinds of interpreting applications: In combination with interpreting technology Synexis is used for the wireless transmission of up to 8 languages (VHF up to 9) for the conference participants. For whispered interpreting applications Synexis is used as a mobile interpretation system. In this case the individual adjustable mute function of the transmitter provides optimal working conditions for interpreters.
Iris infrared interpretation system The digital infrared interpretation system for wireless multi-channel transmission of foreign languages is easy to install and to use. Due to the digital DQPSK modulation method the system provides smooth operation for up to 16 languages. Iris complys with the IEC 61603-7 international standard for infrared audio transmission for simultaneous translation facilities.

INTERPRETATION EQUIPMENT PIVOT LANGUAGE OPERATION
Pivot language operation For international events there are many language combinations possible. Therefore, in multilingual events a pivot language is agreed which is understood by all interpreters. It is translated from the original language into this pivot language. Then the interpreters translate from the pivot language into the target language. The event in our example is in German and the agreed pivot language is English.

Tip: In multilingual conferences with interpreting equipment we recommend using the NOM 1 setting on the conference system, i.e. only one person can speak (there are not several microphones simultaneously open).

SYSTEM DESIGN Cascading of SIS interpretation system
The interpretation system has two different control units: SIS 123 for a maximum of 12 languages (11 + original language) and SIS 121 for a maximum of 4 languages (3 + original language). If a conference with more languages is to take place, the system can be extended by cascading several control units. In the example an event with a maximum of 16 languages (15 + original language) can take place by using 1 x SIS 123 and 1 x SIS 121. When using two SIS 123, there are 24 languages (23 + original language) possible and when using three control units there another 12 languages possible.
