Fatima Khan is an Oslo-based artist with roots from Pakistan, bringing her culture to Norway in the form of art. Her paintings depict her roots, pieces of her life and a part of her soul. Her bold strokes, bright hues, strong contrasts highlight and make her paintings unique and memorable. Thomas Nesland Olsen Nesland Olson is a Norwegian/American Artist living in Oslo. He has a background from the street and skateboarding, but technically he hails from a classical education, making his style unique. Nesland Olsen works mainly with figurative painting, often in the form of still life art, mixing different objects in a surprising way. His work is technically strong and should be experienced close up to fully appreciate his technical skill and the way in which he connects his work to current societal issues. Dora S Kittilsen in her work as in her life, focuses on being true to herself and follows her intuition. She seeks to create an atmosphere, a feeling of energy and curiosity in her paintings through the use of color, contrast, and movement. For inspiration, she uses dreams, memories from her life and stories she has heard. Dora paints strong background surfaces against thin-flowing watercolor-like fields to contrast warm against the cold, light against dark, colors against one another. Linda Kristiansen is a autodidact photographer/digital artist based in Vollen. She creates visual stories based on photography, digital drawing and compositing. Shian-Yuan, Yachi (f. 1983, Taipei, Taiwan) lives and works in Oslo. Yachi has a bachelor’s degree (BFA) from Taipei National University of the Arts and a master’s degree (MFA) from Tunghai University, Fine Art Department in Taiwan. Yachi has worked as an oriental ink painter professionally for about 10 years in her homeland. She explores this medium and tradition mainly in classical flower and bird paintings. Sahar Ajami is an Oslo-based Iranian artist. She started her profession when she was a student, after she won several prizes in cartoon-drawing festivals. After receiving a BA from the University of Art in Tehran, she started working as a freelance artist. She received a Masters of Art in Ibsen studies at the University of Oslo and explored visual aspects of Henrik Ibsen's dramas. This illustration is from a collection named “Ibsen's Women”, a visual research project focused on female characters in Ibsen's dramas. Irene Christensen divides her time between her studios in New York City and in Oslo, Norway, but also for one month each year in Costa Rica. Dag Hol is a Norwegian figurative painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts and was a student of Gunnar Dietrichson and Odd Nerdrum. Earlier he studied Nordic, French and German languages and literature at the University of Oslo. Since he was 18 years old, he has practised yoga and Acem-meditation regularly and this has influenced his artistic and philosophical point of view. Monika Stø (f. 1975) has her art education from universities in Oslo and London. Monika paints primarily with oil on canvas, but also does graphic work, mainly woodcuts. For several years she has assisted artist Nico Widerberg in his studio. She has worked at Kings Place Gallery in London as an art teacher and as an illustrator.
