Beyond Sustainability

These four documents: - Lesson Plan (Biomimicry: Nature as Model, Mentor & Measure- NZC Level 4-5) - Student Handout (Biomimicry: Nature as Model, Mentor & Measure- NZC Level 4-5) - Lesson Plan (Cradle to Cradle Thinking NZC Levels 6-8) - Student Handout (Cradle to Cradle Thinking NZC Levels 6-8) were created as entries for the Great NZ Remix & Mashup Competition Education Resource Category. A dominant story in society about taking an approach to sustainability is for humans to reduce harm. Both Biomimicry and Cradle to Cradle are approaches that set out to learn from nature, and are important in emploring how humans can be a positive presence on this planet. Creating these resources for use here in NZ is important so we are not re-enrolling a new generation in old thinking and approaches to what are and will continue to be important issues in our time.
