NOTICES AND WHAT’S ON 28 July 2019 Trinity 6 Hospitality

Faithfulness Wholeness Today The FLOWERS today have been given by Sharron Arnold in memory of her mother Peggy Seal. The Choir is now on its summer break and we will welcome them back in September. Over the summer we will be welcoming visiting choirs who will be leading our worship on Sundays and during some weekdays and today we welcome the Peterborough Chamber Choir, who will be singing at our 10.15am and 4.00pm services. CHILDREN’S SPACE has now broken up and will resume in September. At 4pm the Revd Canon Michael Wood will lead and preach at Choral Evensong. Michael is an Honorary Canon of Bradford Cathedral and Vicar of St Bartholomew’s in Armley and we very much look forward to welcoming him. This weekend the Community Committee and other members of the Cathedral congregation are at Parcevall Hall, near Appletreewick for their annual weekend away. This time is always enjoyed by all who attend and share fellowship in such a beautiful part of Yorkshire, and do think of them today as they conclude their time together. FAITH TRAIL The August Faith Trail will take place on Saturday 3 August. Starting at 10.15am at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church at the top of Leeds Road and finishing here at the Cathedral at 2.30/3pm, the trail calls at the Abu Bakar Masjid Mosque, the Shree Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple and the Guru Gobind Singh JI Gurdwara, where a free vegetarian lunch (langar) is provided. Booking is essential and if you would like to go on a trail please contact Maggie Myers here at the Cathedral on 01274 777720. TURN OF THE WHEEL the new Artspace exhibition is by David, our Head Verger, who was a potter before being appointed Head Verger in July last year. This exhibition was agreed before David was appointed, so when he closed his pottery business down, in order to take up the post, he kept some pots aside especially, which have been sitting in his attic for the last year. Do go and have a look. WHAT’S ON programme for September – December 2019, which includes all the arts and music events and services for the rest of the Centenary year, is now available on our website. Many of the tickets for both free and paid events along with services, are available to book online or at the Cathedral Office, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Cathedral throughout the autumn. Printed copies of the programme will be available soon.
