GRADUATE From Page 1 program, and that support and the associate’s degree helped him decide where he wants to take his future. “A lot of kids don’t know what they want to do, even at the end of high school,” Hall said. “Do what you can to get there, start at the bottom, because you can’t have anything handed to you. Have the motivation to do what you want, have a goal.” Hall will join the Air Force in a year, and he hopes military service will expose him to technology in an aviation specialty. He’s not sure what type of job he wants to do, but it will involve technology, perhaps military logistics or research and development. He said education assistance and military discipline would help him get where he wants to go. “I know what I want, and I’ll take every opportunity to get there,” he said. Hall said his grade-point average soared in the college classes, and he liked that he could learn from his mistakes and be treated like an adult. “I want to be successful; I know I’m a smart person,” he said. “I want to do something with my life and do something with my mind, to do something great.” Hall said he struggled a bit with the traditional high school curriculum and said he missed out on activities with friends because of the commute from Conifer to the schools in Lakewood and Golden. Hall enjoys videos games, riding motocross, snowboarding, camping, skating and wakeboarding. He considers himself to be very active, and his rigorous school requirements made prioritizing his schedule, well, a priority. “I didn’t think it was that hard.

MEMORIAL BRICK FUNDRAISER … I might have missed out on some things, but I’m a lot happier that it happened this way,” Hall said. College, he said, was worth it.
