FALLING IN LINE PAMPHLET ARCHILIBS // 003
“...one is not free just to invent the lines or to treat them as purely independent phenomena. Even if lines were to be graphic, they would be an indication that in their making, there is something that precedes this making and something which has already been distorted into its own future; a future which might remain invisible to those who are not sensitive to what they are handling. ... Perhaps the invisible lines are not solely abstract lines that you cannot see. They are inevitably the lines along which the future will move... – Daniel Libeskind, el Croquis, 13
Falling in Line PAMPHLET ARCHILIBS // 003
BG-Martin.
Visible and invisible lines
are superimposed
on
infinite space.
There are connecting,
converging and
vanishing lines that traverse,
designate and
generate place.
The origin of a line,
its properties,
duration
and consistency
have different languages.
There are untold types of lines:
border lines,
lines of desire,
lines of thought,
and lines of rupture.
Lines are
indicative of underlying
forces and tensions,
and
are undoubtedly charged with content and
meaning.
