Jobs+ Connect Database (FAQs) What is the Jobs+ Connect Database? The Jobs+ Connect Database allows you (students and graduates) to create a job seeking profile to be contacted with appropriate job, work experience and volunteering opportunities.
Who uses the Jobs+ Connect Database? All current students Graduates up to two years after graduation
Who views the Jobs+ Connect Database? Employers BG Futures: Careers, Employability and Enterprise staff are often contacted by employers seeking to recruit BG students and graduates. We post their job vacancies on the Jobs+ Connect Vacancies Board and we direct the employers to the Jobs+ Connect Database. Employers who have found it particularly useful are those:• with tight deadlines, • those who have had candidates who are no longer able to attend their interview and they need quick replacements, • Small or domestic employers (such as those needing childcare) who wish to contact candidates rather than advertise a post. BG Futures: Careers, Employability and Enterprise staff Staff will also look at the database to forward appropriate opportunities to you.
Has anyone been appointed to a post by advertising on the Jobs+ Connect database? Yes - and those employers return hoping to recruit more BG students and graduates.
How do I put my details onto the Jobs+ Connect Database? You will need to complete a form. Go to the Resource Centre to collect a form or email bgfutures@bishopg.ac.uk If you are having trouble sending the form you can email your notice board details to bgfutures@bishopg.ac.uk . (A new online registration system will be in place iny 2016, Notices will be place on Blackboard, Student Portal and Facebook/Twitter when the system is ready).
Will my contact details be posted online? All contact details are removed when they are posted online and employers are asked to contact the BG Employers: Careers, Employability and Enterprise staff for your contact details.
How long is the information held on the database? We keep the information for as long as you are seeking work or opportunities.
Gaining Employment IMPORTANT: Please inform us when you no longer need to be included on the database. It is important that the information is kept current to encourage employers to recruit students and graduates via this database. We would appreciate it if you would let us know where you have been employers and your job title.
