Teaching pools IMPORTANT
Some ‘teaching pools’ will open/close their recruitment
cycle during the autumn term.
Teaching pools are a system used by schools, where candidates apply to
become part of the pool. Schools are then able to view ‘approved’ applications and contact a candidate with job opportunities. Most pools are run by local authorities, who recruit, on behalf of local
schools. Not all LA’s recruit using a pool, so it is up to you to find out if they have a pool system. You are advised to search local authority websites to find out if they run a pool and when they recruit. You can access links to all county councils via this website ‐ http://tinyurl.com/lasearch
Some regions will run their own pool through a consortium of schools. Sometimes a recruitment agency will run a pool on behalf of schools in their area.
See our Teaching Pool (factsheet) for more information (Collect from the Resource Centre, download from Blackboard or email bgfutures@bishopg.ac.uk) Social Media A good way to keep up with our news, events and articles is via our social media pages.
