INTRODUCING A NEW BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
COMPREHENSIVE YOUTH SERVICES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE NEW SUNNYDALE NEIGHBORHOOD
A public-private partnership was established to revitalize San Francisco’s largest public housing community by developing new homes, streets, and community spaces. A central component of this transformation is the creation of a new neighborhood Hub featuring educational and recreational spaces, run by nonprofits, that provide youth and families with opportunities to play, to learn, and to grow.
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is proud to have been a critical partner in developing these new spaces in collaboration with Mercy Housing, Related California, Wu Yee Early Learning Center (Head Start), and the City of San Francisco. The result is a Hub that seamlessly integrates youth and family services with newly constructed affordable housing, which together builds an ecosystem of supportive services that will help the community and its residents thrive.
THE NEW HUB WILL INCLUDE:
A brand-new 11,000 square-foot Boys & Girls Club
A new Wu Yee Early Learning Center (Head Start) for children up to the age of 5
Modernized Herz Park with a pool, baseball field, two outdoor basketball courts, a new playground, and a new gymnasium operated by San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

WHAT SETS THIS CLUBHOUSE APART

This provides children and families with consistency and easy transitions as their child grows. Additionally, all BGCSF members will have access to all the amenities owned and operated by our partners in the larger Herz Park.
