The Friends’ Discovery Field Trips directly benefit from these funds and have allowed more than 120,000 schoolchildren to learn for free at The Gardens for the last 10+ years! This year we are pleased to honor Cameron and Derrill Crowe for their many years of support for The Gardens and the show. The festivities officially kick-off with “Gala in The Gardens” sponsored by The Sterne Agee Charitable Foundation, 1919 Investment Counsel and Stifel Financial. Before the Gala on Thursday, FLOWER magazine will host Tastebuds with Bettie Bearden Pardee, followed by a panel featuring Mimi Brown, Mary Hayward Spotswood Eudailey, Catherine Jones and Margaret Zainey Roux. Friday we are honored to welcome Martha Stewart as our Red Diamond Lecture Series speaker. Saturday and Sunday are packed full of great events. Saturday morning, designer Meg Braff leads a “Shop the Show,” giving professional cues on incorporating treasures from the dealers into your own spaces. The Saturday lunch event is an all-star panel of magazine-featured designers and architects: Meg Braff, Suzanne Kasler, Nick Olsen and Keith Summerour. Learn more about their work in the following pages. Sunday features best-selling author, editor, and columnist Julia Reed, whose sharp sense of humor and style make the perfect recipe for a brunch centered on Southern entertaining. The scheduled events conclude with an afternoon of fun with tastemakers sharing their thoughts during the “Love It or Lose It” panel. Of course, a unique selection of dealers are available for shopping from Friday through Sunday. You will want to shop early, and often! Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens is pleased to announce the 2018 Antiques at The Gardens honorees: Cameron and Derrill Crowe. The Crowes have been members of The Friends and loyal supporters for over two decades. The leadership and generosity of supporters like the Crowes allows The Gardens to remain a treasured community asset and enables 10,000 area students annually to participate in education programs free of charge. We deeply appreciate and recognize Cameron and Derrill for their dedication, guidance and advocacy on behalf of The Friends. Cameron remains an active volunteer at The Gardens, today playing a vital role on the Antiques Advisory Committee. Her past involvement includes: The Great Chefs Series, Chair of the Sculpture Auction, Chair of Antiques at The Gardens and a member of the Board of Directors. It was in her role on the board's research and development team where Cameron was instrumental in bringing the Antiques Show to The Gardens. Cameron had been involved with the Antiques Show when it was hosted by the Junior League of Birmingham and was able to help with the transition of the show to The Gardens. The past supporters of the Junior League Show were many of The Friends’ past and present volunteers, so this was a natural fit and venue. In 2006—Antiques at The Gardens’ first year— it became The Friends’ largest fundraiser. Cameron was a member of the inaugural Antiques committee, and today her daughter Cameron Estes is Chair of the Antiques 6

at The Gardens Junior Guild. The Junior Guild was established several years ago to encourage the next generation to participate and enjoy the show. Junior Guild members volunteer throughout the show and host a special event of their own. “It has been fun to work on the show with my daughter and niece, who is also involved. Sharing the weekend events with family and friends is a treat,” she said. As with all fundraisers, Antiques at The Gardens has evolved over time, changing to reflect the economy and interests of today’s audiences. Being an active advisor, Cameron’s insights have been vital in keeping the show current, vibrant and special. “It is really funny how history repeats itself and the show I chaired in 2007 is not unlike much of the 2018 show! Many of the same conversations are still relevant,” she said. Cameron believes that what has changed is that Birmingham has become a resource for current design talent. “We have incredible architects, interior designers, artists, craftsmen, landscape designers, curators, floral artists and designers, and antique and specialty shops with experts all over the Birmingham area. “Watching the show gain in momentum, popularity, and strength has been exciting. I certainly appreciate the many hours show chairs, committee and advisors commit each year to making the weekend unique. How great it is to have speakers and vendors contacting us to be a part of the show!” Cameron said. “Derrill and I remain committed to Antiques at The Gardens and are grateful to serve as the 2018 Honorees. We hope you will join us as we welcome the many talented speakers, the Tastemaker designers, art and antique dealers from around the country. A special thank you to Virginia Amason and Leigh Haver, who are serving as the 2018 Show Chairs, their committee, the generous sponsors, and all the individual donors and ticket purchasers for your support of Antiques at The Gardens. The proceeds raised from the show will continue to support The Friends’ educational programs and garden enhancements.”

richard keith langham SHOW AMBASSADOR Brewton, Alabama-born, Manhattan-based Richard Keith Langham has been a force in the decorating world for nearly thirty years. He graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and trained at the Study Center for the Fine and Decorative Arts in London. After apprenticing under Mark Hampton and ten years with Irvine & Fleming, Langham founded his own firm in 1990. His keen eye and ebullient talent serve well in creating his signature rooms—they speak to the past in a fresh way and are brimming with luscious color, pattern, and couture detailing. He worked with some of the city’s most legendary ladies—Mrs. William F. Buckley, Jr. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who once proclaimed him to have, “a sorcerer’s eye.” Langham has been named to Elle Décor’s A List and Architectural Digest AD100 and is in high demand as a speaker around the country on decorating. His book “About Decorating—the Remarkable Rooms of Richard Keith Langham” was released by Rizzoli last October and is in its third printing. Keith has graciously served The Gardens as our Show Ambassador for the past six years.

bettie bearden pardee BETTIE BEARDEN PARDEE, who grew up in Beverly Hills and Atlanta, has been a resident of Newport for many years thanks to husband Jonathan, who is a native of the “City by the Sea.” She is the author of Private Newport: At Home and in the Garden, Living Newport: Houses, People, Style and editor of PrivateNewport.com,

a luxury lifestyle blog. In addition, she is a designer of the Parterre Bench, a national lecturer, and an authority on entertaining. An honoree for the second year on “The Salonniere 100: America’s Best Party Hosts,” she was also the creative producer and host of The Presidential Palate: Entertaining at the White House.

MIMI BROWN began her career in Birmingham, working in floral design and event production. After arriving in NYC in 2009, Mimi transitioned to fashion public relations, working with leading designer Zac Posen. Her love of florals was ever present, and she continued to work on special events in the industry, incorporating her unique vision and design into each project.

MARY HAYWARD SPOTSWOOD EUDAILEY was born and bred in Birmingham, but has family roots in Virginia and Pensacola, Florida. She graduated from Ole Miss and promptly moved to New York, where she went to work at One King’s Lane, before it was the household name we know now. After several years in the city, and having married and then become a mother, she moved back to Birmingham. She signed on as a consultant for the West Coast vintage furniture and accessories purveyor Chairish, meanwhile decorating a new home. Mary Hayward has an unerring eye for good design, past and present, and a personal style that reflects just that.

CATHERINE B. JONES is an abstract artist who employs a variety of mediums to create her fairly minimalistic pieces. Largely inspired by how she perceives her surroundings, Jones uses restraint and bold color palettes to guide the eye to the poignant conversation happening in each of her pieces. Catherine attended The University of Alabama and moved to Birmingham shortly after graduating. Post-college, she ventured into various fields including interior design and publishing, all the while honing in on her creative process. Catherine started publicly selling her work in 2015. Since then, Jones’ pieces have been featured in Coastal Living, domino, and other national publications. Her work has been acquired for personal and commercial collections in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and numerous other locations across the country. MARGARET ZAINEY ROUX is a New Orleans-based lifestyle journalist and stylist. She frequently collaborates with the country’s most celebrated tastemakers to produce pieces on interior design, entertaining, fashion, art, and travel. She serves as a Contributing Editor for Traditional Home, Southern Home, and FLOWER, and has produced numerous projects for Southern Living, Coastal Living and Better Homes & Gardens. Margaret and her husband, Tre’, reside uptown with their two sons, Louis (9) and Henry (6).

MARTHA STEWART & KEVIN SHARKEY Excerpted from Martha’s Flowers

At present my biggest garden project is Cantitoe Farm, my 150-acre property in Katonah, about fifty miles north of New York City. It is still a “work in progress,” a landscape with flower gardens, farm animals, horses, vegetable gardens, and greenhouses. I bought the place in 2000 and intended it to be my “last garden.” I do not know if that will be the case, but it is certainly my largest garden to date. Simply laid out, on land that is gently sloping from one end (south) to the other (north), and intersected with smallish streams, the property is about 50 percent woodland and 50 percent pastures, fields, and gardens. There is lots of space to express my landscape ideas and ideals—four miles of curvaceous carriage roads enable me to quickly traverse from one end to the other on foot, on horseback, or by truck. The biggest accomplishment so far has been the careful delineation of spaces, the planting of allées of trees as well as boxwood, and my inclination now to replant the woodlands with many groves of interesting indigenous trees and plants. I have planted masses of my favorite kinds of flowers: a giant bed of pink-colored peonies; a very large perennial garden filled with many kinds of lilac shrubs; and borders of hydrangeas, Japanese maple trees, clematis, shade plants, and tulip beds. There is no lack of flowers at the farm for arranging and enjoying, and no shortage of incredible opportunities to plant more of everything. I have become more interested now in variety, more picky with color choices, more critical of each and every thing I have nurtured, wanting each plant to be healthy, each flower to be usable, and the gardens to be a constant source of inspiration to others, notably Kevin Sharkey. Kevin came to work at Martha Stewart Living, the magazine, in 1996. He and I became instant colleagues and instant friends. Bostonian by birth, Kevin was 18

educated at Rhode Island School of Design. He began his career at ParishHadley, the renowned decorating firm in New York City. (During school he had interned at the Arnold Arboretum, where he became knowledgeable about trees and shrubs, especially lilacs.) His love of flowers grew as he decorated rooms in the homes of famous gardeners—Mrs. Vincent Astor, for one, and Mrs. Jock Whitney. Walking through my gardens years ago, it became clear to both of us that I was the grower and he was the cutter and arranger. It was as if I wrote the music and he wrote the lyrics. We started our collaboration at Turkey Hill in Westport and then continued it in East Hampton, in Katonah, and in Seal Harbor, Maine. Kevin knows my gardens almost as well as I do, and he knows exactly what will please me, what will look good in the planned location, and what will not. When he ventures out into the landscape to pick and combine what I have grown into coherent “wholes,” he creates beautiful arrangements that fit the spaces allocated, the season, and the occasion. Over the last two decades, we have learned a lot about each other—and flowers. Together we often plan the types of flowers we will plant in a new garden, and we have concocted beautiful gardening glossaries and articles for the magazine. I trust him with scissors in my garden like I trust no other, except for my daughter, Alexis. The bouquets and arrangements in this book resulted from our close planning and envisioning—and luck— in growing spectacular blooms that combine well with one another, or with foliage, to bedazzle a room or call one’s eyes to attention. We are thrilled with the result of our labor, and hope you will be too. And my motto for this book remains the same as in my first gardening book: Pour l’avenir, from the French, meaning “For the future.”

MEG BRAFF Meg Braff was raised in Tupelo, Mississippi, before her design career took her north. She has a shop in Locust Valley, New York—Meg Braff Antiques and Decoration— and a book, The Decorated Home: Living with Style and Joy, from Rizzoli. Her work has been featured in House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, Southern Living, and Hamptons Cottages & Gardens, among others. This year, she’s part of Taste in Spades at Antiques at The Gardens. She talks more about her career and her style. You grew up in Mississippi. What led you to New York? I went to Parsons [School of Design in New York City] after Vanderbilt, and I was there for two years. I immersed myself in the design world, various internships, getting my foot in the door. If you want to be a designer, New York is a great place to learn. How does the Southern design that you grew up around influence the work that you do now? I hope that every project that I’m working on has a certain level of warmth and graciousness. I want you to feel welcomed into that home from the moment you pull into the driveway—with every choice—from the front door color and the planters flanking it to opening the front door and having a very welcoming and gracious hallway. Those things certainly influenced me growing up as a Southerner, and I carry that with me in a lot of my choices. 24

You choose a lot of bright, bold colors. What inspires that? I tend to go with a very clear color palette, not very earthy. But I’m also drawn to a lot of colors in nature, so I use a lot of blues and greens that you would find outdoors. There’s a way to use color where it isn’t overwhelming. I embrace color, but also throwing in a dose of neutrality to break it up a bit. What is most necessary to a beach or lake house design? Comfort and practicality. Every job starts with function—creating rooms that are comfortable and useful and purposeful. You start with that with any project, but particularly at a lake house or beach house. Lifestyle drives the design. If you’re looking to never put your shoes on, which is how I spend my days at my parents’ lake house in Mississippi, you start with how you’re living and how you’re using the space. That really solves a lot of the choices. We use things that feel organic—nothing that feels too decorated—furniture that’s very comfortable and not overly upholstered. It’s the type of space where you have a lot of indoor/ outdoor transition, a lot of doors that lead to terraces and porches. Not going heavy on upholstery is key because the doors are open all the time. It feels a little airier and a little breezier when things aren’t so heavy.

SUZANNE KASLER Suzanne Kasler is the principal of Atlanta-based Suzanne Kasler Interiors. Her interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, House Beautiful, House & Garden, Southern Accents, Traditional Home, and Veranda. Her third book with Rizzoli, Sophisticated Interiors, is out this fall. It’s segmented into town, country, and shore, offering unique design ideas for unique living spaces. She also has signature lines with La Cornue, Lee Jofa, Ballard Designs, Hickory Chair, and Visual Comfort. She talks more about her style and how she finds the personal style within each of her clients. You’ve said that a room should be “collected, not decorated.” Can you explain what you mean by that? I think what we see in design today is all about making layers and it’s about making a composition. When you get through the first layer, you don’t get the personal style that I think people are looking for in design today. So when I used the term “collected”—even if it’s the designer helping the client collect things that relate to where they’re living, whether that’s the shore or the city or the country—you want to reflect the personal style of the client. I love the look of collecting more, because it gives a layer of a personal feel, and design today is about helping our clients reflect their own personal style.

Is it difficult to help clients find their own style within themselves? Over the years, I’ve noticed that most people who hire designers really love design. And I think that’s happening even more today because there’s so much social media knowledge; there’s so much sharing of design. We find that clients who come to us want that personal reflection, but they’re not sure how to get there. You get to know the clients well, and you can always find something that they want to share in their interiors, whether that’s personal family photos or traveling to some place that they always return. It’s one of the later layers. It doesn’t always happen at the beginning of the process, but as we get to know each other, we start talking about it and we find what kinds of things they are attracted toward. They’re more excited about the project, too—creating a place that has more of a reflection of them. What is the most important room in the house? Obviously, it’s the kitchen. It’s had a big influence on what has changed in design today; it ends up being one of the first places we start. I work hard with clients on the kitchen and how it connects to other rooms— whether that’s a family room or eating area. People gravitate toward the kitchen, even though they may not be cooking as much.

NICK OLSEN Although he earned a degree in architecture from Columbia University, Nick Olsen shifted career paths after reading about decorator Miles Redd in a fashion magazine. Hired to assist Redd fresh out of college, he learned the business of design while transforming his own studio apartment with color, personal treasures and ingenuity. That space landed on the cover of domino magazine in 2006. Since launching his own firm in 2010, Nick has become known for creating comfortable interiors that nod to the past while maintaining a sense of humor and whimsy. Never one to shy from bold color, pattern, or an overscale gesture, he mixes antiques and modern artwork with signature style. In addition to domino, his work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Veranda, House Beautiful, British Homes & Gardens, The Wall Street Journal, and Traditional Home. Nick further discusses his style ahead of his appearance in Taste in Spades at Antiques at The Gardens. Why did you switch paths from architecture to design? I revere architects and their work, but am ultimately too impatient for the job. A single project could take an architect 3 years! There's little more satisfying than a decorating before-and-after, but that being said, without strong architecture my efforts are limited.

How do you successfully combine modern and vintage styles? It's mostly about scale, line, and proportion. A modern color field painting looks fabulous above a baroque console, while a curvy Federal mirror above a similar mahogany console feels expected and flat. Your style can be whimsical. Why do you think that works in your designs, and what's the key to pulling it off? 'Whimsical' can veer toward silliness, but I like to think my designs have a sense of humor. I am obsessed with the history of decorative arts, and with the work of my decorating idols, but I never want a room I design to read too "serious." I achieve this by adding an outsize element— perhaps a giant modernist sculpture suspended from the ceiling—or unexpected color combinations. Who says wine red can't live next to royal blue and acid green? I want a room to surprise you a little and make you smile. What's the most important room in the home and what is the most important piece within it? I would say the living room or den: the room where families and friends really live. And the most important piece would be a sofa that's stylish and comfortable— this can take weeks of effort to achieve. The runner-up is lighting: Every living room needs multiple sources of soft, dimmable lighting.

KEITH SUMMEROUR Keith Summerour leads Summerour Architects, an intimate group of experienced design professionals. Together with his dedicated staff, he has delivered a product of the highest quality for over 20 years. His projects range from coast to coast, although the heart of his creation is nestled in the Southeastern United States. Keith is an Alabama native, now based in Atlanta, Georgia. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Garden & Gun, and Coastal Living. He talks more about the interesting circumstances that originally led him to architecture, his design style and his newest book, Creating Home. How did Bo Jackson play a role in your path to architecture? Bo and I both grew up in Alabama, about an hour apart from each other—he in McCalla, me in Jacksonville. We were both track sprinters and were at the same regional state meets. I went to Auburn University to run track. Bo was on the track team there along with several other Olympic-caliber athletes. Mel Rosen, head coach of the ’92 U.S. men’s Olympic track team, was the head track coach at Auburn at that time and expected and demanded the best effort possible. After my best race against UCLA and coming in last, I realized my God-given talent was not as a Division 1 runner. My dad suggested pursuing a profession like Architecture, and that became my path.

What led you to Atlanta? After working abroad in Germany I came back to Atlanta because of the airport and close proximity to my hometown of Jacksonville. You've done a lot of vacation homes, including your own in Georgia. How do you approach that design style differently than a regular home? Second homes are not so much about practicality as they are of dreams and relaxation. Sort of a boutique private hotel. What can we expect from Creating Home? Creating Home has been a huge success, beyond my expectations. My hope is that the work we do inspires others to devote their energies toward timeless spaces and places.

JULIA REED Julia Reed is a contributing editor at Elle Décor and Garden & Gun magazine, where she writes a regular column, “The High & Low.” She also contributes to The Wall Street Journal’s WSJ magazine and writes a bi-monthly column on entertaining for Southern Living. Reed grew up in the Mississippi Delta and began her career at Newsweek magazine’s Washington Bureau. For 20 years she was a contributing editor at Vogue. She is the author of 10 books, including: But Mama Always Put Vodka in the Sangria; Adventures in Eating, Drinking and Making Merry; One Man’s Folly; The Exceptional Houses of Furlow Gatewood; The House on First Street; My New Orleans Story; Ham Biscuits, Hostess Gowns, and Other Southern Specialties; and Queen of the Turtle Derby and Other Southern Phenomena; and Julia Reed’s South, Spirited Entertaining and High Style Fun All Year Long. Her most recent book, South Toward Home: Adventures and Misadventures in My Native Land, was published in July. She lives in New Orleans, where she has served as board chair of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art for seven years. Currently, she is a member of the National Advisory Board of the Eudora Welty Foundation. What are some of the things that you collect and how is that reflected in your home? I collect a lot of culinary antiques because I cook so much. In my last book, Julia Reed’s South, there were photographs of many of those that I use in so many different ways. Since I cook so often in New Orleans, I think I have four different sets of cocktail forks. When I talk at antiques shows and show those photos, dealers love it because I’m showing how you can use these antiques in a modern way. I have a huge collection of 19th—and some 18th—century wine rinsers. Instead of having 15 Riedel wine glasses on the table like we do now, they’d just have one wine glass and you’d just rinse it and go on to the next wine. Most modern wine glasses are too big to use them that way, but I use them for sauces, I use them for dips, flower arrangements— because I hate having tall flower arrangements on the table because no one can talk over them. I love things with texture; I love natural things. I collect tortoise shells, horn cups—I bought this antique terrarium at the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show one year and 30

I just filled it up with seashells that I collected for a million years. I love things that come from the natural world. What distinguishes Southern entertaining? The most important thing is our attitude. It’s always sort of “more is more.” You don’t run out of food, ever. One of the things about growing up in the Mississippi Delta was that at all of my mother’s parties and the parties of her friends, there was a mix of generations. My mother’s friend had a big Christmas Eve party each year, and I started going to that party as soon as I could walk and wear a velvet dress. I continued going to it until she stopped having it, which was well into my own adulthood. The mix is important. I’ll mix generations. I’ll mix high and low cuisine. If I’m having chicken from Popeye’s, I’ll put it on a beautiful porcelain platter, and I’ll serve it with Champagne, which is actually the best wine pairing to go with fried chicken as it turns out. Some of the things we consider Southern like great pimento cheese or perfect ham biscuits or a big bowl of lump crabmeat with homemade mayonnaise can share the table with beef tenderloin. And as I said, abundance marks our entertaining. You never have too much food. You never have too much whiskey or wine. You never have too many flowers. If people bring guests, you can always find a chair for them. The best ingredient for a great party is a relaxed host. If the host is uptight, everyone else is going to be. You can’t worry about spilling red wine on the upholstery; that’s what salt is for—just dump a bunch of salt on there. What makes a dish Southern? I used to write the food column in the New York Times Magazine. When they did a new addition to the New York Times Cookbook—the editor at the time was introducing some of my recipes and went to great lengths to say that I “was Southern, therefore I relied heavily on rich ingredients like butter and cream and eggs.” And I said, “Well, yeah. Yeah I do. Because that’s good.” We cook cleanly, sometimes, especially in the summer when we can use fresh produce like great tomatoes and squash. My favorite thing about being in the South in the summer is the number of great shell peas we get. But what really defines Southern food is cooking with pork products— salt, pork or a ham hock—to me, Southern food is more flavorful. That’s the simplest definition I can give you. It tastes better.

FUNDING CURRICULUM-BASED SCIENCE EDUCATION AND CREATING PARTNERSHIPS THAT HELP THE MAGIC CITY GROW. The Plant Adventures Program:

n Welcomes almost 1,500 participants. n Conducts 2,500+ annual program hours. n Partners with health-based organizations such as Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center to offer a monthly series of health-focused gardening programs. n Guides garden adventures for local social enterprises like Urban Ministry’s WE Learn, an after-school and summer learning program for students in Birmingham’s West End neighborhood. n Assists community partners in developing sensory inclusive standards for cultural institutions implementing the KultureCity Sensory Initiative. n Provides outreach to traditionally underserved groups of students and adults with special needs, through programming with organizations including The Exceptional Foundation and The Arc of Jefferson County.

n Lasts one week during the summer. n Hosts 80+ camp directors and counselors. n Teaches 300+ students from the City of Birmingham. n Visits 5 gardens. n Sends 800+ plants to new homes. n Includes lessons on botany, plant propagation, soil nutrition, and more!

n Grows a variety of both typical and unusual culinary vegetables. n Illustrates numerous plants, ideas, and techniques for the home vegetable gardener. n Donates 3,000+ pounds of food to Magic City Harvest, a local organization that annually provides as many as 500,000 meals through 30 agencies in Central Alabama. n Sees 400+ volunteer hours.

n Teaches thousands of local schoolchildren who come to The Gardens on Discovery Field Trips and childrenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s summer camps important lessons about where their food comes from. n Introduces those students to the groundbreaking work of Dr. George Washington Carver with plantings of cotton, soybeans, and peanuts.

Exploring Native Alabama Plants

n Did you know that in 2017, more than

The Kaul Wildflower Garden is the only garden at Birmingham Botanical Gardens with a full-time curator and its own dedicated summer intern, the Louise Wrinkle Native Plant Internship. This nationally-renowned, seven-acre naturalistic rock garden began in 1966 through the efforts of volunteers Barbara Orr (Bobbe) Kaul, Louise (Weesie) Smith, Margaret Wimberly and Sue Kinner. They retained noted Swiss landscape architect Zenon Schreiber, to transform a severely eroded stream corridor and a stone quarry dating from the Works Progress Administration of the 1930s, into a marvel of natural harmony and beauty. Since, it has been a haven for exploring Alabama’s rich biodiversity, which ranks fifth in America! Aspiring botanists and seasoned pros alike can learn more about Alabama’s flora through the Certificate in Native Plant Studies program or by participating in the Native Plant Conference in 2019. Hosted by The Friends every couple of years, the Native Plant Conference features botanists and speakers from across the country, and includes field trips to many of Alabama’s most scenic landscapes.

1,500 volunteers served Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens for 20,730 hours valued at $488,398.80? And that doesn’t include the service from our Board of Directors, Plant Sale or Antiques at The Gardens leadership! The Friends also had 25 corporate and student work groups that served over the course of the year: a total of 275 people serving 573 hours! Volunteers are our lifeblood, and we always need your help.
