Price of basic food items and drinks are increasing. Wages are also set to rise. There's no way to absorb all of it so I will have to pass some cost increases on. BUT as I have controlled the increases in the past - I will do so again.
Hello All!
Both Paul and Brian have done a fantastic job keeping the speed of play up, dress code and catching 'jump ons'. I intend on keeping this format - so when Brian has finished starting at the weekend, Paul takes over. The average speed of the weekend round has improved by 30 Goodminutes.job lads!
Between brutal Brian and Paul, we have increased the presence on both the course. In the last 2 weeks I have had Paul working from 12-8pm. He has been roaming the courses and has dealt with etiquette issues (golfers teeing up in the middle of the fairway!) for example.
Extra Course Wardens
What a summer so far! We have had some crazy hot weather, but I hope you will agree Johnny and his team have kept your courses in great condition. Few things to update you on - as always if you have any feedback or ideas - whip them across!

Ben, our PGA Trainee has decided he doesn't need sleep anymore and is now the proud owner of a couple of twins! Carter and Charlie. He is back to work next week and I am sure you will join me in congratulating him and his lovely wife - Claire.
Work has finally started! You guys have mentioned so many times how ropey our entrance is. I agree!
This morning Dave 'the digger' from our GK team is preparing the area. Give him a toot when you see him! I haven't been this excited since the pond renovation! You will be proud to drive into your club by the time I have finished!
Do you hate our entrance?
The Practice Field A few questions that keep cropping up regarding the practice ground. We have left the right hand side to grow for a few reasons:-1.The area compensates for the lack of chipping area. It was only ever meant to be a chipping area. When people are using drivers and woods, there are no safety nets in place. 2. This area is earmarked. Eventually we are looking to become completely water independent moving to a more sustainable living. More Improvement... We are working towards :1.Steps up to the 6th and 7th green 2. Path work from the 1st to the 2nd 3.Bunkers - you will see we have already re sanded 5 bunkers on the Seely last week with more to come. 4. Music now installed in the lounge and on the patio - feel free to give us a play list! 5. New furniture is on its way (no more snagging yourself on the table tops!) We were proud to hosts the Gedling Challenge and the Lord Mayor of Gedling, Peter Barnes, who accepted our donation of £250 in support of his charity Nottingham Hospitals Charity helping children and young people on 7 September. The mayor commented on how fantastic the food was and his comments were echoed by all. Well done Steve and all the catering team. Oakmere Park piped Mapperley to pick up the cup. Maybe next year!

Note the Captain... a summer!
The Interclub Foursomes team defeated Southwell to reach the county final which is to take place on Sunday 18 September at Oakmere Park, a fantastic achievement. Well done to all who have battled through the rounds and good luck in the final. Supporters are very welcome, lets cheer on Ramsdale to pick up the trophy.
The Scratch team season went down to the last game with the team narrowly missing out on promotion, well played and better luck next year. It has been a pleasure to support the team and see some fantastic golf.

Thank you to all the players who have represented the Club and particularly to professionals Will and Jack for playing in and supporting the Summer cup. Our competitions continue to be extremely well supported, thank you. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes, often unnoticed, to make sure they run smoothly.
The final matches of the Summer cup (6 pairs better ball handicap matches) completed last week. It was great that Ramsdale finished off the season with a win at home over Southwell. The matches are always played in great spirit, if you would like to take part next season please let me know and I will add you to the list.
The greens were at their very, very best for Charity Day on 6 September. Thank you to all the members for your support, donations and for raising a tremendous amount to help Maggie’s Nottingham. It will make a real difference to people’s lives. Well done Danny, Brian, Hans, Theresa, Helen, Vicky, Jan and everyone involved.
Thanks to Mark Northern and John White and all involved. Your efforts are appreciated, well done. Enjoy the final weeks of the season and play well.
It has been one of those summers when the sun really has shone and shone and despite the lack of rain we have continued to be spoiled by the quality of the course and particularly the greens week in and week out. Thank you and congratulations to Johnny Evans and all the team The members and visitors alike appreciate the results of your efforts.
