AN UPDATE FROM...

Hello everyone, A little update from me and the team. It’s been a tricky month so far with the snow and ice, but hopefully we’ll have some better weather on the way!

It’s All About The MEMBERS!

Free member event – book your team’s place

Last year we ran several free members range nights – more of which will come in the summer. This time, I thought I would mix it up a little and throw in a quiz night.

Friday 24th March – 6pm – Quiz Night

We have a quiz master joining us. Your hot meal will be completely free. There’ll be a small entrance fee for teams of up to six people, all of which will be paid out in prizes. Email me today to book your team, there are around 11 teams entered already!

Walking On Fire For Maggie’s

In January we slept out in the cold… In February we walked on fire for Maggie’s Cancer Care. A couple of team members were roped in to taking the walk. Tom Wilson, Chef Simon, and Stevie BB, along with our Captain, Sach, and of course your starter – Brutal Brian.

The whole event raised over £6,000 for Maggie’s – again we’re absolutely blown away! Massive thank you to everybody who supported.

We Need Your Mug Shot!

I have emailed a few and popped it on the Facebook group. We really need your photos for your member profiles.

This will tighten up security on your membership and allow the pros to ensure it’s just you that is using your membership account.

Anyone who doesn’t have a photo on the system will soon not be able to play. So, please pop into the shop and let them take a snap of you. Alternatively, email your up-to-date photo in with your membership number.

COURSE UPDATE

What’s Happening On The Course?

After an extreme amount of work from the greenkeeping team, the new steps look great!

The Greens Team Take Gold!

The red paved path will continue down to the 7th once the path has been edged. Johnny and his team have done a fantastic job, and this will make it much easier getting up to the tee box. I’m sure you’ll agree, it looks brilliant.

Johnny and his team have worked tremendously hard to deliver a superb course. At our annual awards, Ramsdale Park pick up the award for ‘Course Standards of the Year’. The team was delighted, and it was truly well deserved! Good job team!

We also picked up a few other awards:

• Food and Beverage Team of the Year

• Member Satisfaction Score of the Year

• BGL in Bloom – thanks for the hanging baskets, Glen!

We’ve also ordered a new bench for the 6th. It will be a memorial bench for Tony Brant, who many of you knew and is sadly missed.

Book Your Driving Range Bay For FREE

Some people don’t know this, so here it is! Members can pre-book driving range bays and not be charged. Meaning you can use your discount.

Whats The Buzz About Bees?

You all know I love a project! My new thing for this year will be bees and wild flowers.

So… I have a bee expert and a wild flower expert on their way to talk me through it all. Not only will we be improving the aesthetics of our already beautiful course, but we’ll be helping the ecosystem AND we will be bottling up fresh honey for you all!

I haven’t been this excited since Mr and Mrs Mallard came back to the newly renovated pond!

Our first soul and Motown night of the year went down a storm. The entertainer was fantastic as always, and the chef outdid himself with some great food!

Our next event takes you back to the 80’s. More dancing, and the live act will have you shaking those rah rah skirts all night!

Members Deals

We are still being battered by rising costs. Silly things like eggs have increased 30% just in the last two weeks. It’s a storm that we will have to weather, and there will be some small price increases in the new menu. However, there will always be special member deals, so please keep your eye out for them. I know it’s not ideal, but we promise we’ll look after you wherever we can.

In Loving Memory of Derek Mellor

I am so sad to report that Derek Mellor, a longstanding member, passed away recently. The club flag will be at half-mast as a mark of respect. I am sure you will join me in sending condolences to his family.

Thank you so much (again) for all your support. Please keep filling in the feedback forms with any ideas you might have. I will be preparing for renewals which are on their way, and I will communicate what you need to do a little closer to the time.

Hopefully I will see some of you on the free members quiz night on Friday. There will be a special ‘Beat Brian’ round, so bring your A-game as you all know how much I like ridiculing him!
