PUBLISHER’S

NOTE

What’s your favorite Easter memory? I was raised knowing that the holiday was significant because it reminded us of Christ’s ascension from the grave, and the salvation that came to us through that miracle. I can remember my home church in Thomaston, GA, and the huge wooden cross that was placed in the front lawn. Church members would bring flowers and decorate the cross, and it was stunning when it was completed! And, it made a beautiful backdrop for family photos. Every Easter, we would host extended family at our house for lunch and some fun for the kids. We hard-boiled eggs and colored them with PAAS dye, and the adults would hide them all over the field next to our house. One not-sorosy memory is discovering an egg we didn’t find several months later at the base of a tall pine tree in the side yard. What a stink! In this issue, check out some of the Easter events we found around town to enjoy on page 10. Still looking for a summer camp for your little ones? Our camp directory on pages 12-21 will give you plenty of good ideas. And, keep up to date with product recalls you might have missed on page 26. I’m always open to ideas or suggestions from our readers. Drop me a line at matthew@bhamfunandfamily.com. And, whatever your Easter traditions are, I hope you enjoy time with family and friends and make lasting memories. Happy reading!

Product Recalls Few things are more frustrating than researching and shopping for items that we need for our children -- cribs, strollers, clothes, shoes, baby monitors...the list goes on and on -- and finally making the purchase, only to find out later that the item is being recalled. Product recalls can be mildly inconvenient, but they serve a good purpose by informing us of potential issues with the products that we have purchased. BFFM wants to keep you in the loop about products that have been recalled that you might have purchased for your family. The list below is up to date as of February 20. For more recent recalls, visit recalls.gov. Cat & Jack Unicorn “Chiara” Boots from Target POTENTIAL HAZARD: the unicorn horn on the boot can detach, posing a potential choking hazard to children.
