Mayor Bosse, Vice Mayor Gold Headline Inaugural Beverly Hills Club Meeting At BHHS By Laura Coleman Beverly Hills High School students packed the Jon Cherney Lecture Hall Wednesday afternoon to listen to Mayor Lili Bosse and Vice Mayor Julian Gold speak at the first-ever meeting of the BHHS Beverly Hills Club. Founded by students Adriel Ghadoushi and Jonathan Meshkani, the new club is intended to form a nexus between government officials and young adults in an effort to engage participants in Citywide affairs. Though simply an item on the council’s consent calendar, the rent stabilization ordinance was pulled for discussion. (see ‘BEVERLY HILLS RENT’ page 22)

By Victoria Talbot In a complaint filed on March 21 in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills Police Captain Mark Rosen claims the City of Beverly Hills acted with discrimination against him and unnamed defendants, and that he was reassigned because he is Jewish and over 40 years old, which is repeated no less than 30 times. The complaint alleges that Chief Sandra Spagnoli transferred Rosen to BHPD’s LEXIPOL project because he is Jewish and over 40, to retaliate for his complaint of discrimination. LEXIPOL is a data-management system used for policy training for public safety organizations that requires updating. Last year, Rosen filed a complaint of employment dis-

He requested that the DFEH reject his claim immediately and give him the right to sue the City of Beverly Hills as a legal tactic to reach bigger pockets.
