The career prosecutor’s credits include convictions in the Phil Spector and Mickey Thompson murder cases. Jackson now carries the title assistant chief deputy district attorney of the Major Crimes Division in the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. He’s now running for the top spot in the June 5 primary election when the 46-year-old prosecutor hopes to succeed retiring District Attorney Steve Cooley. “But more than simply being a litigator, the position carries with it the enormous responsibil-

Instead, Metro simply said, “We don’t do risk assessments.” Beverly Hills experts disproved conclusions from Metro’s consultants, engineering and construction management firm Parsons Brinckerhoff during a hearing yesterday in front of the Metro Board of Directors. The hearing was demanded by the

City of Beverly Hills under Public Utilities Code 30639 regarding the location of Metro’s station in Century City. The Beverly Hills Unified School District, in conjunction with the City, fielded witnesses including Leighton and Associates Principal Geologist Philip Buchiarelli, Earth Consultants International President and Senior Partner Eldon Gath and former California High Speed Rail Authority Southern California Regional Director and BHUSD consultant Tim Buresh. Buchiarelli was on the team which spent almost four months trenching and conducting borings and cone penetrometer tests (cpt) at the Beverly Hills High School campus.
