combined the two to make one 26-story building. That new project would have created no additional impacts, according to an independent City report, so the Hilton took the matter to the voters. City Council Inches Closer To Approval Of Wanda Project By Victoria Talbot The Beverly Hills City Council voted to approve the preparation of a resolution and an ordinance to approve the 9900 Wilshire Boulevard project, also known as One Beverly Hills, in a 4-1 vote with Vice Mayor Nancy Krasne dissenting. One Beverly Hills' Specific Plan Amendment, Development Agreement and Final Supplemental EIR will be on the City Council agenda on Nov. 15. No specific modifications were made to the plan, reflecting the Council’s approval of the loading dock and the three left turns/entrances on Santa Monica Boulevard. The Development Agreement includes $820 million going to the City over the next 30 years, including $60 million up front. The council also considered providing more funds from the agreement for the Beverly Hills Unified School District and agreed to work that into the Joint Powers

Agreement, which is currently being negotiated. "Our entire team is proud that the Beverly Hills City Council agreed to move forward with the One Beverly Hills project today. We believe that following the City's process, including a Supplemental EIR, Public Comment, Planning Commission approval, a revised Development Agreement and now City Council review has resulted in a better project for us and for the City. We look forward to final approval and starting construction on One Beverly Hills at the City's western gateway." said Wanda Beverly Hills’ Rohan à Beckett. Beverly Hilton spokesperson Marie Garvey said the Hilton continues “to have serious concerns about the severely flawed and dangerous access plan on Santa Monica Boulevard and the project's loading dock across from the guest entrance to the Beverly Hilton. We will weigh all our options."

By Victoria Talbot The Hilton Initiative, Measure HH, was not passed by voters at the polls on Tuesday. Measure HH represented the Beverly Hilton’s desire to build a 26-story condominium with a 1.7 acre publicly-available garden. Measure HH would have taken Measure H – which was approved in 2008 for two buildings, one 18 stories and another eight stories – and

number should be north of 65 percent - how far north is the question to be answered in the next few weeks.” Counting votes does not end on Election Night. Over the coming 30-day period, known as the Official Election Canvass, the L.A. County Registrar Recorder will make sure that all ballots cast are counted, including Vote by Mail ballots received on Election Day, provisional (see ‘MEASURE Y’ page 8)
