Before Settlement Confirm date, place, time and ask for a checklist of everything you need to bring to settlement. Are all necessary inspections complete? Are all required repairs complete? Final Walk-through inspection? Is your insurance policy paid and ready? What form of check to use for closing cost? What is the closing amount? Receipts for items you have already paid for? Bring checkbook to cover any overlooked fees? Bring a valid photo I.D.

The Day of Settlement Settlement officer will ask for your paid home insurance policy Settlement officer will list the adjustments You will sign the mortgage & mortgage note You will get title from seller in the form of signed deed Lender’s representative will collect closing cost and give you a settlement statement You will receive keys to your new home The deed and mortgage will be recorded in the town or county courthouse.
