Meanwhile in other parts of the west, an extended dry spell has led to disruptions in traditional farming and ranching production thereby increasing interest in Montana agricultural properties. This is in spite of a somewhat unstable international situation when discussing agricultural exports, tariffs and traditional trading partners. Montana continues to be a leader in many different parts of the agricultural world including in the production of organic farm products:**

• #1 producer or organic chickpeas, dry peas and safflower

• #1 producer of organic wheat – over 92 thousand acres & over 2.2 million bushels of production.
