Thank You I told our sponsors that when I thought of the Black Hills Roundup the word “legendary” came to mind and this year proved just that! Not only were records broken inside the arena but out of the arena as well. We had record ticket sales, record beer sales and some of the world’s greatest cowboys show up for the best 4th of July celebration in the country. Every great event takes a lot of teamwork and thankfully my board of directors Dallas Conner, Clay Crago, Dirk Hoffman, Justin Tupper, Mitch Johnson and Terry Siegfried come together to make my job as chairman a little bit easier. In order to work as hard as they do to make everything come together you have to “ride for the brand” as we like to say. Thank you to all of the volunteers that show up when its 100 degrees and help get the job done. We have some great help from the guys running the roping box and sorting steers, to the guys tripping latches for the rough stock events, to the ladies selling tickets – the list goes on. We couldn’t do it without our committee and volunteers. Thank you to the City of Belle Fourche for your support. Whether we are upgrading something on the grounds or getting ready for the street dance, Gloria and Randy have been there to help guide us
in the right steps to take to get everything taken care of on their end. We truly appreciate your support and help in all of the details. Thank you to the community of Belle Fourche and surrounding areas. You all out did yourselves this year and were ready to come out and have a great time. We hope you enjoyed it! Lastly, I want to thank my wife, Audra, for all of her help throughout the year and during the week of the Roundup. She puts in countless hours helping me and I couldn’t do it without her. I also want to thank my kids for putting up with all of the meetings and hours of phone conversations that demand my attention sometimes. I have really enjoyed being the Chairman the last two years and doing my part to help the legacy live on. Keith Anderson

What a wonderful parade we had this year! It is an honor again to serve such a historic and beloved event as the Black Hills Roundup Grand Parade. So many folks are owed my gratitude. I fear I'll forget someone but for starters thanks to Doug Kraft and the crew of Hersrud's of Belle Fourche for sponsoring the parade for the last 26 years! Mark and Deb Leverington for hosting the parade headquarters and always being available to lend an ear. The city of Belle Fourche and Police department for providing facilities, managing the route and traffic flow. Thanks Randy, Dirk, Nate and Marlyn! Lorrie Kimball, Leah Muhm, Barb Williamson and Denise Adams from Chutes for Charity along with Keith and Audra Anderson, Black Hills Roundup Chair, for helping stake out the parade route that hot Saturday morning, thanks guys! Past Charmain Scott Reder and Captain Cameren and crew of the Untied States Air Force for helping us coordinate the B1 flyover. Wasn't that awesome! Deb Elliott of Life Light Creative and Nicole Scofield of Cole Sco Designs did an amazing job designing our theme artwork and helping to overhaul the parade entry form. Thanks to Zeann Golliher for doing such a good job establishing our social media presence and helping me manage parade entries coming in. Mike and Suze Bayne did an amazing job representing the parade as its marshals, thank you for everything you've done for the Black Hills Roundup and Miss Rodeo South Dakota over the years! Nate Bowman at Dakota Lumber for donating 150 stakes, Lynn's Dakotamart for catering the reception the morning of the 4th, thanks Jim and crew! Thanks to Jack Verry, Curt Westland, Bryton Odekoven, and Cash Johnson for their announcing duties and to Ashley Pearson and James Agar for helping pick our category winners.
