INSPIRATION
ORIGINAL COVERS The original covers for the Lying Game Series are not visually appealing to the late teen target market that they are written for. I want to give them a fresher more illustrated style.
CONCEPT BOOKS THE LYING GAME NEVER HAVE I EVER TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE ABOUT THE SERIES The Lying Game series is based around two twins that are separated at birth and sent to live with different foster families. One of the sisters discovers that she has a twin whilst also uncovering that her twin has been murdered. She goes undercover as her deceased sister with the intention of solving her murder. She enters into a world of ‘it girls’ that lie and play detrimental games with people. Themes I want the covers to convey include: || Nevada, where the ‘undercover’ sister is originally from || deceptiveness and shade || ‘it girl’ persona || the connection that the twin sisters share || similarities between the twins e.g. tennis, music || want the faces on the books to line up when placed next to each other like the original designs do
