VERDE
A new space for the community in Monferrato’s land scape: the expansion of Vezzolano Abbey’s orchard.
Verde is the natural expansion of the Vezzoano Abbey’s Orchard to the outer public area. The project’s aim is to convert the actu al parking lot - an aggressive symbol of mass tourism – in a mul tifunctional space for people to gather, experience educational and recreational activities as a community, and connect with the local cultural and historical heritage through artificial elements. Verde is a co-design project that involved the community of Albugnano in its design process.
The Abbey of Vezzolano is a fundamental element of this land, because of its historical and cultural value. The expanded apple orchard will function as a space to storytell the cultural and his torical heritage of the area through its natural native treasures, to safeguard and raise awareness of them. To create a self-sus taining environment for the orchard and guarantee constant shadowing, will be planted other native plants, bio-ecological and already adapted to the local environment.
orchard expansion from the Abbey’s garden to the parking lot area
The new orchard will be populated by elements that encourage the exploration of the green environment and also the interaction between people. The elements are designed taking inspiration from Monferrato’s hills, following the concept of metamorphism.
The space is going to stenghten the sense of community around the municipality, by offering people a place where they can enjoy the natu ral surroundings and multiple activities that will take place in the park.

FALLEN CHURCH
An acoustic ceiling gives a new meaning to the disrupted church by creating a new performance space. The acoustic panels can be modulated in height to allow a proper sound diffusion differ ent event typologies that will take place in the church. A retract able stage installed in front of the great windows completes the space design by creating a relationship with the landscape.

PERCEPTION
The project aims to make people aware that sound can shape the experience and the perception of the place, through a path of different sensations. The strategy of the spatial design focuses on the contrast, but also dialogue, between invisible and visible. The invisible is the sound, which is divided into natural (the wa ter from the fountain) and artificial. The visible part is the physical installation on the corridor, made by layers of transparent acous tic fabrics. The invisible shapes the visible in a polysensorial and immersive experience.

A spatial soundscape scenario within San Simpli ciano Cloister in Milan
The ceiling installation dialogues is the transla tion of the soundtrack and of the sensations in a physical way and it appropriates all the space. It hides the speakers and the sensors that acti vates with the passage of the visitors, surprising them with the unexpected soundscape.

VERDE

The project’s goal was to communicate, through various graph ical supports, the aims of the new spatial design intervention that will change the landscape of Albugnano’s municipality, by creating a new public orchard for the community. The elegance and delicacy of the design project, needed to be combined with its innovative approach to the urban dymension. The pervasive use of the green color - “verde” in italian - com bined with a soft ivory shade, create the identity of the project.
Brand Identity & Graphic Design for a spatial desi gn project in Albugnano, Italy
The postcard was designed as a call to action for the visitors of Albugnano and the parteci pants of the co-design session: it is not only a souvenir, but also a reminder to encourage people to contact us by sending memories and photographs of the place.
The book is a detailed description of Verde, starting from the contest analysis, going through the co-design phase to the final defi nition of the structural specifics. It includes the entire design process, described through dia grams and significative images.
CONTEMPORARY INTERIORS
The idea for the pubblication rises from the need to develop a research for an academic course at Politecnico di Milano. Due to my growing interest in editorial design, I wanted to explore and exercise the possibility to use grids and graphical tecniques to improve the communication of archietctural and design projects. The first issue is about the Japanese architect Toyo Ito and one of its first buildings, the White U house in Tokyo.
White U _ Toyo Ito
Typology:
I wanted to practice using the Swiss grid sys tem, because of its contemporary appearence and mathematical approach.
In Japanese art - as in the White U’s desingblank space and graphical elements have the same relevance.
The issue navigates the balance between the vintage pictures by Koji Taky and Tomio Ohashi, written text and blank space creating dyna mism and accents through the pages.
PHOTOGRAPHY IG
The project aim is to provide a visually appealing and clear comunication for an Instagram page focused on amateur pho tography and photography courses. The feed of the page is build through images provided by the followers, that take part in challenges and contest proposed to engage the community. The style of different photographers may be combined to create an omogeneous visual design.
project for a client’s Insta
Idea for a carousel focused on the history of photography and its masters.
The combination of a colorfull feed and more neutral informative carousels plays with the contrast between the elements. The lightness of the informations enhance the power of the images contained in it and allows a clear communication.

das unheimliche
Year: 2019
Professors: Enzo Mologni Carlo SusaThe experience of the uncanny in the installation field
Un/Known is a path consisting of five environ ments built on the different declinations of un canny, identified by Sigmund Freud in the essay Das Unheilmliche (1919).
According to Freud, the uncanny feeling, linked to the sphere of fear and horror, is experienced in a habitual context, through the recovery of elements stored in the unconscious. The un canny generates a form of anxiety that confers negative attributes to what was previously considered ordinary.
Jacques Lacan detects the genesis of the un canny in an alteration of the perception of the individual in relation to an object of the familiar
context: the analysis of the possibilities of art, in particular of an art form linked to space, to carry out this alteration, in order to manipulate the perception, is the fulcrum of the project.
For this purpose, I chosed the environmental in stallation as the most appropriate artistic form, as it allows to operate on the totality of space and stimuli to which the user is subjected and to create an immersive experience. In each environment are used functional artistic and spectacular techniques, technologies and sce nographical practices that are more suitable to create an engaging experience of the concept of uncanny.
Realeyes
The environment is built on the concept of the un canny whereby an inanimate object may seem alive under specific conditions. The flow of b/w images cre ates an ambiguous atmosphere. An eye investigates the spectator’s movements, generating embarrass ment and the anguish of being spied on.
Black out
The environment is related to the most childish of the uncanny declinations: the fear of dark. The viewer is in a dark room. A system of light and sound design insinuates in the spectator the feeling that a second presence is gradually approaching him, in a growing climax of tension.
Reflect
The environment is built on the uncanny concept of the double. The image the spectator has of its own body is deformed through a system of screens disguised as mirrors: the reflection it is used to, is translated, overturned, slowed down, and it leads the spectator to perceive its own image as unfamiliar.
Loop
It stages the concept of repetition through five iden tical environments, within which a pair of identical actors perform the same action, slightly increasing the relationship with the viewer in the following rooms: everything is aimed to create a climax that leads to a disruptive and unexpected final performance .
The End
It is linked to the most uncanny element of all: death. The viewer relates to the theme through the change of perception among an aseptic element: what seemed a white form in a white room, lights up from the inside and reveals a shape that reminds the inside of a sarcophagus

wrath of gold
Site-specific installation realized with the italian artist Giovanni de Gara for C.A.R.M.E. in Brescia
Wrath of gold is a site specific installation created for the show room C.A.R.M.E. in Brescia. It consists in a ten-meter wooden structure covered with golden thermal blankets, it has the shape and size of the high windows of C.A.R.M.E.’s building and at the same time reminds of the structure of the typical catholic altar. The installation is part of Eldorato, a long term project by de Gara, which aims to promote individual reflection on the wel coming theme by covering the doors of churches in gold.

The structure reminds the typical shape of the catholic “pale d’altare”, paintings of saints placed above the altar in the churches.
