Materials • Smooth fabrics or fabrics with to little texture. For better results use 100% Cotton. • Stampin’ Up! high definition stamps. • Acrylic paintings. • Fabric medium. • Sponge
Stampin’ Up! Stamps
I have chosen Swallowtail and Larger than life Alphabet and numbers Stamps as they are perfect for this project.
Step 1 • •
Iron the fabric first. Apply starch (Optional)
Step 2 • •
Mix one 1 part of medium x 2 of acrylic paint. Get ready the sponge…
Step 3 Use the sponge to apply evenly the paint on the stamp.
‌Make sure your stamp is completely covered by the paint.
Step 4 Stamp on the fabric, apply firm pressure for 10 seconds.
You can stamp as many butterflies as you want to create your own designer fabric. I have chosen a thick textured upholstery fabric so the images got the fabric texture and I’m going to make a cushion cover with this fabric.
Wash the stamp straight away with water or clean it with wipes!!!
Step 5 Iron your stamped images for 30 seconds using a dry cloth between the iron and your project ‌
We are done!! Have a look to the next slides to see the same image stamped in light weight 100% cotton ( it got more definition). I also added some pictures of finished projects.

I have stamped the applique on a coordinating lightweight 100% cotton fabric‌
After stamping the image on the light weight cotton fabric, I applied “Fray Stoppa” – antifray glue. I leave it dry and I cut the butterfly with scissors.
