Viatge al 1971. 50 grans discos que fan 50 anys Octubre de 2021

Què estava passant al 1971? S’ho preguntava Marvin Gaye a l’immortal tema (“millor cançó del segle XX”, segons la revista Rockdelux) que donava nom al seu magistral elapé What’s Going On. El món passava moments convulsos, potser hi havia una revolta en marxa, com deien Sly & The Family Stone al seu emblemàtic There’s a Riot Goin’ On (a la portada del qual el color blau de la bandera dels Estats Units havia estat substituït pel negre). En tot cas, musicalment va ser un any esplendorós: la música negra trencava barreres amb àlbums d’allò més excitants, el rock progressiu vivia el seu moment més creatiu, veien la llum obres mestres del jazz, el hard rock, el glam, el rock’n’roll, el folk o el country, grans figures de la música popular publicaven discos que esdevindrien referencials... És l’any de cançons tan mítiques com “Imagine” (John Lennon), “Stairway to Heaven” (Led Zeppelin), “Life on Mars” (David Bowie), “American Pie” (Don McLean), “Me and Bobby McGee” (hit pòstum de Janis Joplin), “Get It On” (T. Rex), “Won’t Get Fooled Again” (The Who), “L.A. Woman” (The Doors), “Maggie May” (Rod Stewart), “Locomotive Breath” (Jethro Tull), “Wild Horses” (The Rolling Stones), “Famous Blue Raincoat” (Leonard Cohen) o “Mediterráneo” (Joan Manuel Serrat)...
