they are in the best hands. Drs. William Ziegler and Alan Martinez understand the importance of patients’ wanting to begin families and are prepared to address any concerns.

“I went into medicine to make a positive difference in someone’s life,” says Dr. Ziegler. “My biggest accomplishment is helping a patient or couple achieve their goal of having a family when they thought it was an impossible dream.”

One of the practice’s most innovative offerings is diagnosing the uterine lining for receptivity prior to transferring an embryo to the uterus.

“Even though we are transferring a genetically competent embryo, implantation may not take place if the uterine environment is not receptive,” say the doctors. “We can assess the uterine lining for receptivity to make sure the uterine environment is properly prepared to accept the embryo and facilitate.”

While the current environment may cause some concerns for those looking to begin families, COVID-19 does not appear to affect pregnancy. However, as a precaution, Drs. Ziegler and Martinez have expanded their consults to include the possible effects on the mother and pregnancy. They have enacted a number of safety protocols, including keeping embryos created before the pandemic in a separate lab and limiting the number of patients in the office with telehealth appointments.
