Dry hair is a nightmare which most of us experience and it becomes impossible to retain our natural soft, shiny hair. Hair becomes dry when natural oil from hair is removed during activities, like sunbathing, swimming in chlorinated water, overuse of hair dryers, and other styling products which spoil the beauty of the hair too. Dry hair is a very common problem in today’s generation. Instead of taking several hair treatments, try some natural home remedies.
These DIY hair masks are all you need: 1. Egg yolk mask: Egg yolk is a very versatile product and this mask smoothens your hair follicles from the bottom. It softens your hair so much, you wouldn’t stop touching it! Turns out egg really is a great thing to put in your hair. For a moisturizing, restorative, make-it-shine hair mask, mix it with some coconut oil. 1 Egg Yolk 2 Tbsp. Coconut Oil 1 Tbsp. Honey Double recipe for long hair. Combine ingredients in a blender or whisk ingredients together until well-blended. Apply the mask evenly throughout damp hair, making sure to cover damaged ends too. If you have long hair, tie it up. Then, cover hair with a shower cap or towel and let the mask sit for 30 minutes. Wash out the mask with shampoo and conditioner. For best results, apply the mask once weekly.
2. Yogurt, Honey & Olive Oil: When you mix honey with a little yogurt and olive oil, it’s an important component to helping get your hair back in shape. 1 tsp olive oil 2 tbsp honey 1/4 cup yogurt Mix the ingredients well. Apply to damp hair, and allow to sit for 15-2o minutes. Rinse and wash your hair, and allow to dry as normal.
3. Aloe vera mask: Aloe vera contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny too. It promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair too. 1/4 cup aloe vera gel Juice from half of a lemon 2 tbsp of olive oil/almond oil After shampooing, mix the three ingredients. Coat the hair from the scalp down and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse.
4. Banana Honey Mask: Banana has just enough protein to improve elasticity while the combo of honey and oil moisturizes strands and hydrates the scalp—a spot prone to sunburn too. 1 ripe banana 3 Tbsp honey 2 Tbsp olive or almond oil 2 to 3 drops essential oils (optional) Mix the ingredients in a blender until it is a smooth liquid with no banana lumps. Saturate the hair with the mask, massaging into the scalp. Cover the hair with a shower cap and wrap a warm towel on top. The heat creates deeper penetration. Let sit for 15 minutes and rinse.
5. Almond milk mask: Almonds are one of the amazing products when it comes to hair care. Try this mask to experience that salon affect you probably missed out. 4-5 tbsps almond milk 3-4 tbsps Full fat milk 1-2 tbsps coconut oil Mix all the ingredients well in a bowl and gently apply it on your hair with brush. If applied overnight, it is the best remedy for those with dry hair. Wash off with cold water and mild shampoo. Use it thrice a week and if your hair is badly damaged a daily use for 8 to 10 days improves your hair condition. You can continue using it twice or thrice a week until you get the required results.
