Here are some home remedies to make your hands beautiful and smooth. 6 DIY Home Remedies for dry and tanned hands: 1. Orange Peel: Orange is a rich source of Vitamin C which lightens the skin tone. So, next time you eat oranges don’t throw away its peel. Instead use it as a skin care recipe. Dry some orange peels in the shade. Once dried completely, grind them in a grinder to a fine powder. Add some milk to it to form a thick paste. Clean your hands and feet with mild soap and apply this paste on hand. Keep it for 20-25 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. Repeat this for 3-4 times a week for best results. 2. Potato: Potato contains skin bleaching properties. It is extremely effective for reducing skin pigmentation. Rub fresh slices of potato on your skin. Keep it for 10 minutes and then wash it off with cold water. You can also use potato juice instead of potato slices. 3. Gram Flour: Gram flour removes excess oil from your skin. Mix 2 tablespoon of gram flour and enough rosewater to make a thick paste. Apply it on your hands and keep until it dries. Wash it off using cold water. You can replace rosewater with milk or curd.
4. Cucumber: Cucumber is helpful to heal sunburns. Rub fresh slices of cucumber on your hands for 5 minutes and leave it for 15 minutes on your hands. Wash off with cold water. This can be repeated daily. 5. Tomato: Tomato is a whitening agent that balances the pH level of your skin. Apply some fresh tomato juice on your hands using a cotton swab. Alternatively, you can also rub a tomato slice. Keep it for 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water. 6. Papaya: Papaya gives an instant glow to your skin. Simply mash papaya in a bowl. Massage this paste on your arms. Keep it for 20 minutes and then wash off with cold water. For better results repeat thrice a week. Some quick tips: • Exfoliate your hands with lemon juice twice a week. It helps remove dead skin. • Do not go in the sun when you have applied any bleaching agent like lemon. This will darken you skin more. • While dish washing, use gloves. Dish washing soap/ liquids contains harsh chemicals which makes your palms dry. • Apply sunscreen half an hour before you go out in the sun. • Lack of moisture makes your skin dark and dry. Apply almond oil before going to bed.
