Prefix FirstName LastName Company Address, Unit City, State Zip Code Dear [first name], One of the most important lessons I learned from my parents was, “Give back, work hard and show up every day.” When you give to United Way of Greater Stark County, you are making a strategic investment in our community. You are building a stronger Stark County through Education, Income and Health. When I was young, I did not consider us poor. I didn’t know any better. My parents always had food on the table, so I never really noticed how poor the family was. I did not realize it until I was talking with my brother and he told me how poor we really were. I remember the family going to the community garden to pick potatoes because they were cheaper when you gathered your own. My mom bought day-old baked goods for the same reason. I was grateful when my cousin gave me a hand-me-down coat. However, when you dressed different, some of the kids at school were not so kind. Fortunately, I was brought up to believe that if you have the ability to help other people that is something you should do. Through my parents’ wisdom and example, I have been able to work hard, and I am fortunate to now give back. It is the most important thing I do. Through the United Way, I see kids just like me. Kids that have great ability. However, they and their families may lack the means and opportunity to build their dreams and follow through. Over the years, I have seen and heard the success stories.
