September 14/15 & 21/22 PARADE PREVIEW:
Welcome to the 2019 Parade of Homes Ban Construction
By CHARITY DEWING • cdewing@billingsgazette.com This is the first in a four-part series of Parade of Homes, brought to you by the Billings Gazette and the Home Builders Association of Billings. For the following three weeks, The Billings Gazette’s “Your Home” section will feature the design work of some of the city’s top construction companies and the homes that have been selected for this year’s Parade of Home selection. There was resemblance to this year’s parade homes – a collective consciousness to reconnect to Montana roots. Construction and design focused on farm life, calling it “Contemporary Rustic” or “Mountain Modern” – and why not? The connection to a simple life with the modern upgrades that accommodate the alwaysevolving technological world we live in creates harmony – perhaps a more needed concept now more than ever.
and LED water features; a full wine and liquor bar; a hibachi grill; and family theater room. The design echoes the landscape of the Rimrocks, offering rustic appeal throughout the home like Hickory hardwood floors, a barn-door entrance to the office and White Oak cabinets in the kitchen. Why travel for a relaxing getaways when home can be where your heart and soul find sanctuary.
Set against the landscape of open blue sky, golden wheat farmland, away from the city lights, these homes take us away from the overly-contemporary and industrial design work of the early to mid-2000’s and back to a time that, for many of us, echoes our childhood in rural Montana.
Todd Brown of Brown Builders calls his design “Modern Farm,” blending fresh design concepts with farm allure. White alder wood cabinets and golden brown white oak hardwood provide that farm-style feel. Real wool carpet on the stairs contrasts beautifully against custom-made stair railing crafted by dark and stainless-steel cables, exemplifying the balance of classic and contemporary. The really captivating part of the home is the incredible 20 foot, floor-to-ceiling white, marble-like stone fireplace. It is the epitome of jaw-droopingly awesome.
All about antiquity. McCall Homes presented a new build in the always-growing Annafeld Subdivision. Located at 6022 Norma Jean, the home summons the charm of an old Southern farmhouse with its large sit-in front porch, complete with pillars and tall framework with white siding. With all of the comforts of a modern home, including a theatre room and wet bar, the enchanting blend of old and new finds a perfect balance.

Rooted in Montana. McFadden Construction embraced their own personal origins and Montana customs by implementing the natural elements of Big Sky country. Geological components like quartz, cultured stone, knotty alder wood, and earthy paint tones offer an environmental feel of connecting to the outdoors. This home is also for the equestrian. There is plenty of room to ride and adore horses at the indoor riding arena while the outdoor arena and pasture allows the horses to get close to the house, creating a family experience between horse and owner.
Image Builders wanted to embrace tradition in the design work at 6328 Amen Corner Lane by saying goodbye to the totally open-floor concept – Hello privacy! While the kitchen and living space have a cohesive flow, the dining is set apart, offering a more formal experience. Bedrooms are also tucked away, offering children and parents a place to find solace, rather than feel on-display. It’s time to think outside of the “open-concept” box – sorry, not HD Building and Production Consulting is creating homes in sorry. the rural living in the Bar 11 Subdivision. The area is a perfect blend of rural living while just outside of the hustle of Billings Mountain Time – and the livin’ is easy. Ban Construction Heights – it is country living 2.0. 4825 DIAMOND FALLS ROAD DIAMOND FALLS SUBDIVISION
F3
Ban Construction
The Ultimate Staycation By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
Set against the countryside backdrop of the Rimrocks and open prairie, the contemporary exterior of 4825 Diamond Falls Road encapsulates the design model behind this diamond in the ruff. Rustic modern was the concept intended for this four bedroom, two full bathroom and two powder room luxury house. At 4,558 square feet, the home features 62 Pella windows – and it is all but breathtaking when you enter the front door. The abundance of glass immediately brings the outside in, making the incredible swimming pool and patio area not only the centerpiece of the home, but appeals as an additional room. “We wanted it to feel like a beach house,” said Tana Ban, co-owner of Ban Construction. The Five Star pool features two LEDlighted waterfall fountains that have a volcanic-look in the evenings. Additional color-changing LED lights in the pool make a dip in the dark even more fun. Various tables, lounging chairs, a fire pit and grill area with fridge will make this poolside getaway a popular destination for friends and family. Entertaining doesn’t end there. Inside, an open-concept main floor allows hosts and guests to mingle. The kitchen is fully

equipped with modern Jenn-Air stainless steel appliances. The rustic charm of the White Oak cabinets balances the ambiance. Hickory hardwood flooring creates a cohesive warmth through the main floor while natural light highlights the creamcolored paint. The main floor has the essential chill factor. Guests can grab a drink from the impressive dry bar, complete with wine rack, wine cooler, display cabinet and mixing bar. After grabbing a drink, guests can converse next to the stonefaced fireplace. It was important for the team at Ban Construction to blend contemporary influence and rural charm. Implementing equal elements of both can be seen throughout the home. A rustic barn-door design leads to a secluded office when paper work, writing or other tasks need to be completed without interruption. A sleek, modern coal-colored staircase contrasts the darker gray and espressocolored wood of the farm-style feel, creating balance. The second floor is also for entertaining – but maybe just for the family. Why go to the movie theater? A large family room and full wet bar makes for a great

evening in. The master suite is like staying at a luxury hotel that you never have to (or want to) leave. Lush sand-colored, luxury carpet and spiral ceiling fan create a soothing effect in the suite – but that is not the best part. Pella windows line floorto-ceiling, offering an unbeatable view of the Big Sky and Rims – it is country living in the city. Just when you think it can’t get better it does. The incredible ensuite features a sunken jet tub; walk-in shower with a bench; and massive walk-in closet with a mammoth island dresser, shelving for shoes and accessories, and clothing racks – best part about this walk-in closet/ room is the coffee bar. No need to walk all the way downstairs to the kitchen for a fresh cup of Joe – everything you need is in your personalized coffee station.

But wait – there’s more. Montana summers are short, but we all love to grill. The three-car garage is more than just a place to park. The garage is actually a bonus room to the house. Complete with a hibachi grill, kitchen area, and TV, this heated addition just brought grilling back – no matter what the weather. Investing in the place you call home is important. And why not make it the place you never want to leave. The appeal of a getaway resort is enjoying the feeling of relaxation – something we often neglect. Ban Construction found the elements of what the word ‘retreat’ means, making this home the best staycation.

108 MOONSTONE LANE BLACK ROCK ESTATES
Brown Builders
A Little Bit Country / A Little Bit Rock N’ Roll By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
Externally, 108 Moonstone Lane encapsulates everything Todd Brown of Brown Builders wanted to conceptualize inside. It simultaneously evokes a traditional feel, with modern flair and country vibe. He calls it the “Modern Farm” concept and this home nails it. Ivory siding beautifully diverges against the wooden beams of the welcoming entryway, while metal accents of the eaves offer a contemporary impression. A large bump-out, also called “the tower” by the team at Brown Builders, features four large windows and is the most prominent aspect of the exterior. Inside, the two story, 4339 foot home offers country living – with swag. The open-concept main floor pours into a kitchen, dining and living space that is ideal for entertaining guests, holiday dinners and regular family meals. In the kitchen, white alder wood cabinetry standouts against the golden brown engineered white oak hardwood that runs throughout the main floor. The kitchen

island also features dark coffee-colored cabinet storage under the marble-colored counter top, adding a contemporary edge to the very farm-style ambiance. GE Monogram stainless steel appliances and a large walk-in pantry make this kitchen both functional and fabulous. Natural light glows through large floor-to-ceiling Andersen windows and sliding doors, emphasizing the open concept into the pure white-painted dining and grand room. With ceiling height reaching up to 20 feet, the centerpiece to the main floor is the impressive floor-to-ceiling white, marble-like stone fireplace. Wood shelving against a crisp, white wall alongside the fireplace and windmill ceiling fan adds to the farm atmosphere. Stairwells are carpeted with real wool runners, calling to a rural Montana lifestyle while custom-made stair railing crafted by dark steel and stainless-steel cables draws in modern panache. The exceptional master suite features

an incredible ensuite with dark chocolatecolored cabinetry and his-and-hers sinks atop white marble-tone counters. White oak hardwood flows throughout the ensuite towards the slate gray tiled walk-in shower. But, the most impressive part of this master bedroom is direct patio access to a private hot tub and fire pit area. But the patio area is also built to entertain. Sliding doors from the dining area leads guests to a large space to enjoy the sunset, eat and be merry – and it even has a large built-in grill. Upstairs is ideal for a kid’s area. Brown Builders was thinking ahead when designing the shared bathroom adjoining the two rooms. A small hallway leads
from each room to a Jack & Jill-style bathroom setup but both rooms get a private sink and vanity area, so all the kids have to share is the shower. The basement is perfect for movie nights and entertaining. With two bedrooms, a sauna room, full wet bar and theater area this will be the ideal “indoor retreat” getaway for friends and family. Only ten minutes from the city and far enough away to enjoy the sky without metropolitan lights, this rural-style home sets a new bar. Country living – made easy – with some awesome modern touches and few luxury features that you didn’t know you couldn’t live without.

1130 OSPREY FALLS DIAMOND FALLS SUBDIVISION
Emineth Custom Homes
Keeping it Real
By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
Externally, the dark tones of the home at 1130 Osprey Falls juxtapose beautifully against the bright blue country sky. Black coal and suede gray paint blend well with metal accent siding and stone work. The design offers a balance of innovation and comfort – and it carries throughout the interior as well. Inside, abundant light pours in through numerous and large Windsor windows. Opposing the darker tones of the exterior, the interior is a light and welcoming space. A white shiplap accent wall with white shiplap fireplace featuring black Emser subway tile brightens the area and provides texture. The fireplace area also features built-in storage benches. The white tray ceiling of the grand room enhances the dimensional feel, offering a modern yet homey vibe. Emineth Custom Homes designed this home to present balance between lavish living in a functional way. The home has a country feel – humble, yet offers hidden luxuries you never knew you needed, like the built-in steam oven in the kitchen. Steam ovens can cook veggies, meats, fish and seafood, rice – you name it. The functional aspect of this
luxury item is the ability to cook foods in a healthy way while maintaining the nutrients – life just got so much easier and healthier. Traditional, clean white paint and design flows through the open-concept of the living, dining and kitchen. The kitchen offers a downhome country ambiance with large Windsor windows and antiqued glaze and oak stained snowwhite cabinetry with chocolate-colored handles. Stainless steel appliances and oven hood offer a modern appeal while the many dining and kitchen windows bring the countryside scenery into the home, rounding out the pastoral vibe. Through the large sliding-glass doors of the dining, a sizeable patio complete with fire pit provides a place to roast marshmallows, play guitar and watch the stars with friends and family. The main floor also offers a generously-sized office with raised Windsor windows, contributing a lot of natural light without the sun getting in your eyes or creating a sweltering space to work. Next to the office is a large and impressive laundry/mud room complete with an abundance of storage space and a built-

in bench and locker area for kids to keep their backpacks, shoes and coats organized. The main floor also presents the master suite with walk-in closet and an incredible ensuite featuring a walk-in cavern shower, soaking tub and his-and-hers sinks. Downstairs, four more bedrooms are available for children and guests, as well as two bathrooms. The basement also includes an extraordinary entertainment room with full wet bar; family movie nights, pool and dart nights, gaming nights, sleepovers, gatherings, you name it – this sizeable area is ideal for bringing family and friends together.
In addition, Emineth Custom Homes included a safe room in case the unthinkable happens and the home is damaged by water or fire – the items in the concrete safe room will remain intact. The three-car garage is heated and offers plenty of extra space for recreational, sports and outdoor equipment. Finding the balance between “too much” and “just right” is hard when trying to design the home of anyone’s dreams. Emineth Custom Homes found a way to achieve a fabulous and functional lifestyle for families that don’t need a super-lavish existence but aren’t opposed to some high-end comforts that improve navigating this crazy thing we call life.

1132 PLATEAU ROAD BAR 11 SUBDIVISION
HD Building/Production Consulting
Rural Revolution
By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
HD Building and Production Consulting is setting a new bar to rural living in the Bar 11 Subdivision. Still new and growing, the area is between Shepherd and Billings, tucked back into the undeveloped land, where life is still quiet and serene. The team of HD Building offers twostory homes but is focusing on one-level homes in the Bar 11 Subdivision – a growing popularity with families and individuals who need handicap-accessible living. The three bedroom, two and a half bath, 2,623 foot home at 1132 Plateau Road presents ranch-style curb appeal. Externally, wood siding is highlighted by stonework and metal accents. The entryway is chic, yet simple with a white frame, glass door. Inside, this onelevel home’s open-floor plan offers a place for family to gather. The kitchen immediately catches the eye as beautiful cedar ceiling planks with drop lighting highlights a large island with a marble-style epoxy countertop. Chocolate-colored maple cabinetry with black rustic cabinet knobs add to the country vibe in the kitchen. Stainless
steel appliances and stainless steel sink with oil rubbed bronze faucet implement a contemporary flair. But the best part about this kitchen is the incredibly large walk-in pantry with separate sink, a freezer, and tons of storage space for those trips to Costco. The grand room encompasses the ideal homey feel yet embodies high-end features that add sophisticated charm. The floor-to-ceiling Napoleon gas insert fireplace with stone-like facing offers an inviting space for the family to cuddle-up for quality time. Engineered distressed oak hardwood runs throughout the living, dining and kitchen creating a cohesive sense of comfort. Beige paint and large windows provide a light, airy ambiance to balance the darker colors. The most appealing source of natural light comes from the large Therma-true French doors that lead to the patio, where friends and family can enjoy the prairie sunsets. Fourteen-foot high, white vaulted ceilings and an eight-blade espresso bronze ceiling fan add to the open atmosphere and additional dimension of the grand room.
The home also features a beautiful office space with glass French doors, large windows to bring the county air and sunshine in, and a cluster pendant hanging light fixture to add a bit of contemporary glamour. The master suite has a clean, country vibe with beige paint, a four-blade espresso bronze ceiling fan and recessed lighting. The ensuite is the highlight of the master bedroom. The large jetted tub is perfect to soak all of your tensions away after a long day of work. The impressive and enormous walk-in shower featuring four rain showerheads and a large sitting bench will surely make mornings a lot more cheerful. Large windows allow natural light to pour in and illuminate

the warm earthy tones of the master ensuite making it the ideal breakaway location when life is just a bit too chaotic. A large three-car garage, equipped with cooling and heating, is great for recreational, sports and outdoor equipment – not to mention, there’s enough space for a “man cave.” With the beautiful glow of Billings Heights just over the peaks, this home rests only 10 minutes from the city, creating the ideal balance the design intended to capture for the home itself: the appreciation for a rural community and rustic living with all the comforts of a modern life.

Exterior Lighting Guide Why homeowners should add more exterior light to their properties.
• Safety: Trips and falls can occur at night when trying to traverse walkways and landscapes in the dark, as it can be difficult to see rocks, stairs and uneven pavement. Outdoor lighting can illuminate pathways, entryways and other areas for safer access for homeowners and their guests. • Extend outdoor entertaining: Ample lighting can increase the amount of time one can use outdoor spaces and make them the perfect gathering spot. As autumn arrives, days become shorter. However, patios, porches and more can get extended use with lighting. • Safeguard security: A well-lit home may be less likely to be targeted by burglars than one swathed in darkness and shadows. Lights can remain on all evening or be motion-triggered. Setting lights on timers also ensures that the home is illuminated whether residents are home or not. • Create drama: Landscape lighting designers can establish focal points around the landscape and highlight the best features of a property. Uplighting in trees, silhouetting techniques to showcase plants and spotlights to show off architectural features are all options for homeowners to consider. • Add value: The experts at Parker Homescape, a landscape design service, say that exterior lighting can add roughly 30 percent to the value of a home. They also indicate that 50 percent of all home buyers say that outdoor lighting is important when buying a home. If current residents are thinking about selling, now may be the time to invest in exterior lighting.
Improving a home’s exterior may be as simple as adding more lighting to improve functionality and beauty.

6328 AMEN CORNER LANE THE NINES SUBDIVISION
Image Builders
Mountain Modern By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
Off of the beaten path, a new subdivision is emerging. With developing parks, walking trails, a community center and pool, The Nines Subdivision is a place for families of all kinds to settle into a lifetime of memories. The home at 6328 Amen Corner Lane presents an impression of grandeur. Against the backdrop of open blue sky, the multiple levels of roofing – both slated and flat – present a modern introduction. Large Pella windows, creamy white and gray Hardie board siding with copper lighting and wood accents calls to a simple, contemporary elegance. Double-sided glass front doors open to the semi-open main floor. Designed by Image Builders, the open-floor concept wasn’t necessarily something they wanted to fully avoid, but neither fully embrace. Instead, the team at Image Builders blended a traditional home layout and open concept to allow privacy for bedrooms and office, while the kitchen and living area remain open for entertaining. At 3,697 square feet, the design concept for this four bedroom, 3 ½ bath home is geared towards a cabin-like vibe with hints of modern flair. The kitchen embraces much of the country feel. Laminate, walnut-colored
cabinets (including the fridge door) present a simplistic, yet elegant appeal that offers a vintage-farm look. Wood shelving adds to the ambiance while a quartz countertop with a suede finish reveals a contemporary feel. Complete with Thermador appliances; a hidden door to an oversized pantry; and large island, this well-designed kitchen is utilitarian and lavish. Hallmark engineered hardwood runs throughout the kitchen, dining and living room creating a cohesive atmosphere. The cabin vibe can be seen with earth elements incorporated into the layout. Real rocks create the face of the fireplace, calling to Montana mountain living. Wood shelving and a large wooden beam in the vaulted dining room offers a lovely rustic tone to the home. The living area presents perhaps the most exquisite feature of the home – giant 20 feet wide by 10 feet tall sliding glass doors that allow that beautiful Montana sun to pour in, and an unbeatable view of the stars. The main floor also offers a full dry bar with wine rack and wine cooler; bonus entertainment room, complete with wet bar; and a private office with glass doors and an indoor window – so you can work

in private and keep an eye on what’s happening in the home. A good book and hot cup of coffee in the early morning hours can be enjoyed through patio access of the master suite. A large walk-in closet features a custom basket pass-through directly to the laundry room. The master ensuite features a glass walk-in shower with bench and a beautiful free-standing tub for relaxing evenings. Upstairs, two more bedrooms with walk-in closets and a Jack and Jill bathroom (from hallway access for privacy) gives kids a place to have some solitude. Best part is – the rooms have large Pella windows providing incredible views of that Montana sky and the Rims. Because this home is basement-free, Image Builders wanted to find a way to

create a balance for storage. The three-car heated garage was just the ticket. A top floor to the garage – complete with real stairs, not a pull-down ladder – offers plenty of storage for holiday décor, sports equipment and outdoor gear. Image Builders understands the importance of family. A bonus one-bedroom guest house to this property is perfect for in-laws to stay for the weekend or longterm. With a two-car heated garage, laundry hookups, and all of the modern features of the main house, this beautiful guest home truly offers a sense of largefamily community. In that way, the home at 6328 Amen Corner Lane in The Nines Subdivision offers what many of us take for granted: family and community – in a word, togetherness.

7119 WHITETAIL LANE COLEBRAY SUBDIVISION
McFadden Construction, INC.
Horse Ranch Heaven By Charity Dewing • cdewing@billingsgazette.com
McFadden Construction is all about detail – right down to the smallest accents of a home. The home located at 7119 Whitetail Lane is no exception – and in fact, much of the details, including furniture, is handmade by lead contractor and owner, Tim McFadden. The four bedroom, 4,700 square foot home calls to natural elements and the Montana modern vibe. Externally, it provides coffee and clay-colored Diamond Kote Siding, which beautifully contrasts against black steel pop-out accents and cultured stone. Inside, the home is a perfect blend of mountain living and modern flair. The kitchen, living and dining all work together in the open-concept design. The kitchen includes a large island with Cambria quartz countertop and walnut cabinets – as well as throughout the kitchen – and jar pendant lighting. Many aspects of the home feature one-of-a-kind design work, including the hand-forged hammered steel cabining handles imported from the Ukraine. Large Pella windows create abundant natural light for the main floor, creating an open and airy ambiance. Rustic-looking, low-maintenance lux-
ury vinyl planks maintain a cohesive and mountain-modern atmosphere. The grand room features a massive Mendota linear fireplace with custom steel facing and large insert for a plasma TV. Knotty Alder doors and trim beautifully contrast light gray wall paint and vaulted pure white ceiling, which features a cool propeller-like Minka Air Wave II ceiling fan. Enormous double sliding glass doors lead to an incredible patio complete with a hot tub and custom fireplace. But, it gets better – the outdoor horse riding arena and pasture leads right up to the patio, allowing horses to come on over and say hi to the party, without actually getting onto the patio, itself. The dining is all part of this mix but slightly tucked away, offering an inviting and open space but also provides a formal option as well. The main floor also provides a sizable office with large Pella windows and frosted glass doors to maintain work privacy but allow light to pour in from the grand room. The master suite is all about relaxation – a mountain-Zen vibe. The ceiling features an eye-catching inverted wood tray accent with lighting to offer
Downstairs, family and friends can gather in the theater/entertainment area with a full wet bar and minifridge. The basement also includes two large guest rooms for when the grandkids come to visit – one with a built-in writing desk for homework or office work; the other is substantially larger for mom and dad. Large Pella windows allow plenty of natural light, keeping this basement bright and cheerful. When it comes to Montana living, there is a nostalgia and desire for the elements of the mountainous landscape we all know and love. Incorporating those elements into our daily lives allows us to feel closer to the natural scenery we value – McFadden Construction nailed it.

a soothing effect when dimming the main lights. A faux-concrete accent wall presents modern appeal while satin veil pendants create texture. The master also includes a private wine and coffee bar, providing the ultimate relaxing beginning and ending to a day. The master ensuite provides the ultimate spa experience with a gorgeous Maax Oberto freestanding soaking tub next to large Pella windows – imagine gazing at the night sky, glass of wine in hand, and a warm bubble bath. The large walk-in shower has a grotto appeal with beautiful russet and stone tile, and modern upgrades to offer the most tranquil start to a day – grab a cup of coffee from the master suite coffee station and watch the news on the ensuite’s built-in plasma TV.

purist Roman tub faucet in chrome, you will never want to leave this bathroom. Upstairs, family time comes alive. A sizable entertainment room allows a place for the family – and kids, when parents need a break – to have time to watch movies, play games, puzzle, play music and find solace. The second floor also features three bedrooms – all with walk-in closets, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and luxury carpet. Kids can have their own separate space, and bathroom, to call their own – and so can parents. Last, but not least, this home comes with a swanky one bedroom apartment over the three-car garage. Ideal for income, a college-grad, guests, or in-laws, the apartment features a contemporary, modish kitchen with stainless steel appliances; stylish wooden island; nook for office space; bathroom; and large bedroom with a walkin closet.
bar and wine cooler for some sweet mixology or a fun wine-tasting. The master bedroom and living area are separate from the dining and kitchen, allowing for a more private atmosphere. Ideal for cuddling next to the chic whitebrick fireplace, the living room bestows a warm, homey environment with modern simplicity. Wooden shelving accents appeal to a Montana quality while the coal-colored steel staircase presents a modern edge. The spacious master bedroom features the same warm and inviting tones, maintaining a consistent sense of comfort. A sizeable walk-in closet allows plenty of space for two large wardrobes. The master suite encapsulates the farmhouse style with a sliding barn door-style entrance to the impressive ensuite. With his-and-hers sinks; gray tile shower and glass Kohler Levity shower door; and a Kohler Stargaze freestanding bathtub with
ticated gray fiberon composite decking, offers enough space for plenty of tables and seating. It echoes traditional southern home porches. “We wanted the porch to feel like an extra room,” said Smith. Inside, the front entrance features a quaint coat and shoe area to keep clutter away from the living and dining rooms. The main floor offers 1,396 square feet and is made for entertaining. Throwing a dinner party often leaves hosts in the kitchen and away from guests. The spacious dining area flows into the kitchen, allowing an open-concept. The kitchen features stainless-steel Whirlpool appliances, stainless-steel hood above gas range, and black Irving pendants over the island. Andersen 100 Series windows provide plenty of natural light to pour in, highlighting the warm tones of paint and sand-colored luxury vinyl plank that runs throughout the main floor. Just off of the kitchen is the highpoint of the home – a fully covered patio dining area. Outdoor summer dinner parties can be bug-free. The patio also features a ceiling fan to keep the area cool in the summer and a heater for fall evenings. After dinner, guests can exit the patio and enjoy drinks by the fire pit. The main floor also features a small dry
The exterior of 6022 Norma Jean Lane in Annafeld Subdivision has modest curbside appeal. Simple landscaping allows the open, blue prairie-sky to highlight the southern charm of this two-story farmhouse-style ComfortBuilt home. ComfortBuilt homes are wrapped in an unyielding foam to seal the home and significantly reduce utility costs. It is insulation 2.0 – higher than what the standard code requires. Annafeld Subdivision is all about accommodating the phases of life. From newlywed couples, empty-nesters, and large families, McCall Homes has a home for everyone. The community has a smalltown feel that you just don’t get anymore. Kids can safely ride their bikes outside or go to the park with friends, and there is a sense of neighborhood safekeeping. All of the homes have unique designs. Carolee McCall Smith, co-owner and director of design at McCall Homes finds ways to create dynamic layouts for every project. 6022 Norma Jean Lane calls to Smith’s love of antiquity. “I’m inspired by old homes. They have a charm that is so often lacking in new construction. So, I love taking the character of old homes and combining that with the technology and lifestyles we have today,” Smith said.
