Glass doors and walls create an open and inviting concept at Opportunity Bank of Montana's new branch at 1005 North 27th Street.

The first thing you notice about the new Opportunity Bank location at 1005 N. 27th St., is the incredible modern exterior of the building. The design incorporates vast components of earthlike materials, such as stonework, brick, rock pillars and wood contrasting against contemporary metal accents and balconies with charcoal-metal railing. The landscaping offers a blend of both with simple white pebble terrain – as opposed to grass – with a few small trees and shrubberies – offering a modern flair to the turf. With two drive-through windows, an ATM and a large front and back parking lot, Opportunity Bank provides easy access to both internal and external services without the congestion many downtown businesses have to overcome. Through the front doors, it is clear the interior design is based on Opportunity Bank’s incredible focus

on customer service. The offices feature etched-glass walls and doors, so staff can see and greet customers the moment they enter the building. “Customer access is very important to us. We want them to know we are here and available,” said Billings Market President, Michael Phillips. The first floor associates focus on commercial and personal banking. The offices and teller station provide an easy approach for customers to get in, do their business, and get on with their day. However, you may not want to hurry along. The eye-catching lounging area complete with electronic fireplace, relaxing lounging chairs, coffee bar and hightop table creates a space for clients to take a load off before or after their banking affairs. Warm earth-toned colored carpet, inviting harvestcolored light fixtures, wood accents, and impressively

large windows throughout every office – bringing all of the outside in – the first floor offers less of a bank-feel and more of a homey vibe. With as many as 24 locations throughout Montana, Opportunity Bank continues to grow and evolve, based on client’s needs. What began as American Federal Savings Bank transitioned from strictly savings and loan to a provider that offered everything for their banking customers. With that, the name had to reflect the changes and eventually, the establishment settled on Opportunity Bank of Montana. In the last five years, Opportunity Bank of Montana has grown from $500 million to a billion dollars in total assets, and services $1.1 billion in mortgage loans – a true and impressive testament to the commitment the bank has towards their clients. This is something mortgage branch manager, Kelly Duray is

excited and proud to be a part of. “I love the customer-service atmosphere here,” said Duray. “And what I really like – what brought me here – is that Opportunity Bank fully services all of our client’s conventional loans. So, people make their payments to us. There isn’t a secondary market to deal with.” While many banks have to play middle-man in the loan process, and eventually selling loans to other banks to avoid financial accountability – which can be an incredible inconvenience to the client – Opportunity Bank keeps everything in-house to make the loan process as pleasant and easy as possible – right down to taxes and hail damage. The second floor is all about home loans and arguably, it is the most remarkable floor in the building. It maintains the clean, homey-feel with all of the same earth-tone colors. There are six full offices – constructed with the same glass walls and doors – with at least four existing lenders onsite and two more on the way. These

offices come with beautiful views of downtown and the rims – but it gets better. The incredible employee lounge offers plenty of seating, cupboard space and stainless-steel appliances. Warm tones, wood plank ceiling accents, and apricotcolored laminate floor creates a comfortable breakroom when employee really do need time to decompress. The adjacent conference room offers a place to gather for business without a stuffy office environment. But, the best part about the employee lounge and conference room is the large and beautiful balcony. Not only do the floor-to-ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light throughout both rooms, they both come with full access to the extraordinary charcoal-steel balcony. Employees and guests can enjoy meals, breaks, fresh air and a breathtaking view of downtown and the Billings skyline. In addition, the entire building is decorated with the beautiful photographic landscape artwork of local

artist, Trevan Hiersche. The top floor is undeveloped space, complete with its own balcony. It presents an ideal location for a potential renter looking for a space to enhance their business or creative venture. The design concept, materials and construction of the new and now third Billings location of Opportunity Bank represents not only their mission to provide strong financial futures for Montanans, but it also represents the people that make it all come together. There is an ambiance that cannot be met by pure design and construction alone – it is created by people who care; who know how to talk to and relate to others; people who truly want to help – it seems unlikely that it matters that much for a bank business to nurture fun, respect, empowerment, integrity, enthusiasm and teamwork within their establishment, but somehow the staff at 1005 N. 27th St., does just that. And it shows.

Congratulations Opportunity Bank
