Ideally located on La Côte, in Bursins in the canton of Vaud, Château Le Rosey is just 25 minutes from Lausanne, and less than 30 minutes from Geneva and its airport. Its location and orientation offer a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva, the Jet d’Eau, the Alps and Mont-Blanc on one side, and the vineyards of the estate on the other.
Its vast 2,656 m 2 are spread over eight bathrooms and 10 bedrooms, offering the possibility of accommodating your loved ones or offering guest room services. The entire interior decoration has been redesigned by the architect and current owner of the castle: the terracotta floors blend perfectly with the furniture with contemporary accents, while the Gothic-style fireplace still sits in the middle of the room, one of the many rooms in the house.
The property also includes a farm with five bedrooms, accommodating the caretaker and the resident harvester. Particularly spacious, the property can accommodate 60 people for a sit-down dinner, and up to 100 people for a standing cocktail. The various wine cellars as well as the three kitchens, two of which are professional level fully equipped with stainless steel elements, offer numerous possibilities for enjoying perfect food and wine pairings.
Outside the castle offers an incredible 4.5 hectare vineyard, the source of award-winning wines containing the 11 grape varieties from which the 15 award-winning organic and biodynamic wines are produced, as well as the first biodynamic red wine of the Grand Cru de La Côte appellation.
Constant innovation and a drive to produce wines of the highest calibre paid off in spades in 2018, when Château Le Rosey’s Garanoir, Garanoir Barrique & Gamaret Barrique received the coveted designation of 1er Grand Cru. Strict attention to ecology and environmentally-friendly viticulture methods earned the entire estate its impressive certifications from Bio-Inspecta (organic) and Demeter (biodynamic farming). Eleven grape varieties are harvested by hand at the estate, eventually becoming 15 distinct single-varietal wines. The vines, some of which are four decades old, are planted at a density of 6,000 vines per hectare. At a gentle slope of 430 to 470 meters above sea level throughout the vineyard, the clay-limestone soil beneath is light to medium-light and a mix of sandy and gravelly, ideal for the varietals planted within it.
Its view of Lake Geneva and its panorama, as well as its indoor swimming pool, Turkish bath spa and massage tables call for relaxation of body and mind. You will also be able to appreciate its three outdoor courtyards, with their own fountain, as well as its natural fresh water source.
The Château also has several carports, one being able to accommodate nine vehicles, and the other being a closed and heated garage for two vehicles. Finally, a chapel and a seminar room complete this exceptional property.
Its location and orientation offer a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva, the Jet d’Eau, the Alps and Mont-Blanc on one side, and the vineyards of the estate on the other. The region is known for winemaking and quality of life, with Château Le Rosey being ideal for any family at any stage in their life surrounded by renowned international schools, golf clubs, skiing, international organizations and, of course, winemaking.
Château Le Rosey is available for showings by appointment and for private virtual showings. Listed for CHF 35 million, the property—inclusive of the Château, vineyard, and winery—will sell No Reserve to the highest bidder on October 7–12th, via the firm’s digital marketplace, ConciergeAuctions.com, allowing buyers to bid remotely from anywhere in the world.
