SOUND CLOUD
Holešovice concert hall (Prague)
(designed in collaboration with Johanna Willert) For the construction of a new bigger concert hall in Prague, we chose to use an existing building. The idea was to design the music hall as an extension of an existing office building which has a special architectural value and is an important example of Prague Modern Architecture. With this project, we wanted to offer to the citizens and the guests of Prague a new cultural venue, far from the most touristic attractions. As a result, “Sound Cloud” could be a way to re-develop end re-galvanize the neighbourhood of Holešovice.

Urban project “L’identité dans l’entre deux”*
Developed in collaboration with M. Viffray and D. Dechavanne
The project is about the future transformation of the area Villeurbanne Saint Jean. It is situated on the outskirts of Lyon, on a key location, close to the ring road of the city and to the motorway to Geneva. In the past, this area has passed trough several territorial transformations which have led to an irregular urban fabric, difficult spatial orientation and more over to a confusion for the residents about the administrative belonging of the territory. Therefore, the concept of the urban project aims to clarify the identity of the area, by improving the structure of the urban fabric, developping the current landscape features and by reorganizing some of the key activities which characterize the territory such as the urban agriculture and the flea market. The project suggests to organize the urban structure in different strips which will all have their own atmosphere in conformity with the different parts of the territory. Thus, the design aims to improve the spatial orientation and to give a particular identity to the area.

“BANDES BATIES, BANDES CULTIVEES”*
Master’s degree final project : awarded with the prize “Young Architecture”
The project is about the future organisation of one of the strips, part of the urban project (presented above). According to the strategy and the masterplan, this strip is called “The cultivated city” (La Ville cultivée) and covers an area that is currently occupied with gardens of urban agriculture. What king of neighbourly relations could be formed when one part of a territory is being used for agricultural activities and the other as residential area? How do the boundaries of each area could be designed so that it allows some interaction between the neighbours and in the same time, insures some privacy for the residential area? How does the agricultural activity could become part of the people everyday way of life? And how could urban farming become an activity which influences the social interactions between people? Those are some of the main questions, I was trying to review with this project.

Centre culturel de Vi eurbanne Cultural center for Villeurbanne, France The concept of the project was to consider the building as a “cultural filter which with its geometry invites the visitors toward the urban park on the south area of the site. This concept has led the whole design process. The importance of the shear walls, the position of the window openings and the play of lights represent some of the key elements of the project that remind of a movement toward the park on the south area of the site. In terms of program, the cultural center includes a small music school, a library, an exposition hall and an amphitheatre hall.
