If you’ve gone through a traumatic experience, you may be struggling with frightening memories, upsetting emotions or a sense of constant danger. When bad things happen with you or your family, it can take a while to get over the pain. But, with the right treatment and support, you can speed your recovery. Here are some tips: • • • • • • • • •

During the day consume less or no caffeine. Avoid alcohol and nicotine to divert your mind, it doesn’t help. Exercise, but not 3 hours before your sleep time. Learn to let go of your past. There is a better tomorrow. Keep yourself busy at all times. Flashbacks and troubling thoughts should be avoided. Take a lot of rest, sleep a lot. Eat a well balanced diet. Reduce stress.
