About us BIONIKA Medline Medical Engineering Ltd. was formed in 1989. We have more than 20 years of experience in developing, manufacturing and sales of surgical instruments and implants. BIONIKA is present in the technical fields of odontology, oral surgery, traumatology, orthopaedics and rehabilitation as a company dealing with research and development as well as manufacturing and distribution. According to our aim and conception we attach great significance to the word „BIONIKA� that represents a scientific way of thinking along the common borderlines of biology, technology and electronics, which combines these three fields during our work of research and development. Clinical and technological experiences: Continuous process, combination and utilisation of the clinical and technological experiences in development contribute to our success, with a feedback throughout the manufacturing base. The most adequate solutions and constructions satisfying the customer demands are born here and they are continuously developed. Development: Owners of BIONIKA attach great importance on continuous product and technological development. Our products are developed by close co-operation of doctors and engineers, fact by which we can assure the highest quality available worldwide and practical efficiency at the same time. Quality: The design, manufacturing and quality management performed according to the adopted measures of the European Union assure the quality expected by our Customers. The BIONIKA Medline Ltd. works according to the EN ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management systems. Our products are marked with the CE sign. Warranty: Following the implantation process, we provide warranty for replacing the unit within one year counting from the date of purchase, regardless of the causal relevance. BIONIKA assumes the risk of ossification process. Otherwise we provide a 5-year long-term warranty for our products.

Technology and Quality The BIONIKA Medline Ltd. has been manufacturing and developing dental implants, their implanting tools and dental parts for 25 years. During this time more than 40 implant systems and implanting tools have been developed and being produced until this very moment. • Some of them were developed in order to satisfy the company’s market demands. • Other systems have been developed and produced mainly for foreign markets in cooperation with independent medical teams. (These are distributed under the customer’s own brand name) Currently around 30.000-50.000 dental implant parts are produced every year which have very great diversity. Our partners can choose from close to 4500 different kind and size of components. Some pieces running out thousands of units every year. Thanks to such conditions, our production technology is very flexible and is capable of quick change-overs from one component to another, fulfill multi thousand orders within a short period of time. Such field requires high precision production (in some cases 2-5µm tolerance are needed). We are the one who does every technological steps from the manufacturing through the surface formation to the packing.

Our products have CE mark and are produced under a very strict quality management system. The dental, oral surgical, traumatological and orthopedic medical implants’ most important material is the biocompatible, acid-proof steel and titan. Since usually we get unique and low itemcount orders, they require quickly programmable CNC machining technology. According to this we have dobrevolver caching tooled CNC lathes and swiss sliding head machines. For complex surface elaboration we use 5-axis CNC milling machine with CAD-CAM support. Our machines are powered not just with fixed but driven tools with which we are able to do complex square geometric processing. As additional technologies we have gitter, polishing and sterilizing equipments as well.


TECHNOLOGY In order to keep our competitiveness and modern technological level we regularly take part in research and development and equipment procurement tenders at the rate of almost 100% success.

Completed projects:

• GOP-2009/2-2.1.1/A aquisition of an automatic CNC sliding head machine at the BIONIKA Medline Ltd. • GOP-2.1.1-11/A-2011-0058 aquisition of a CNC lathe for the BIONIKA Medline Ltd. • GOP-2.3.1-11/C-2011-0012 Innovative technological development for the BIONIKA Medline Ltd. The project has been implemented with the support of the European Union and the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund.

Quality assurance • The high quality of our products is guaranteed by designing, production and constant quality control according to the European Union’s harmonized laws. • The BIONIKA Medline Ltd. operates according to the EN ISO 9001 and the ISO 13485 quality guidelines. Our products has CE mark. We undertake long-term warranty for our products. After the implantation – reducing the risk of the osseointegration – regardless of causality we provide 10 years of replacement warranty for the lost implants.

IMPLANT SURFACE According to the ISO 5832-2ASTMF67 quality guideline used during the production of the BIONIKA implants, the Grade 2 - Grade 4 purity titan shows the best qualities for dental implantology purposes. For it’s appropriate cleanliness, it has exceptionally good biocompatibility and proper strength properties. Initially, we and other implant producer companies preferred to use cleaner titan but because of it’s strength problems, nowadays almost every implant is made of Grade 4 or other alloyed titan. In every case the implant system’s abutments are made of - according to the ISO 5832-4ASTMF136 guidelines - Grade 5 purity titan. This titan has grat biocompatibility thus can be used without risk. Almost every expert admits that the success of an implantation mostly depends on the implantologist’s experience, the surgical conditions, hygiene and the patient’s endowments.

The BioTis surface treating technology’s main steps: • Chemical, mechanical surface cleaning and roughening • Special ultrasonic washing, surface cleaning and sterilization • Surface structure transformation with acidizing process • Multi-stage acid decontamination, cleaning • Electrochemical surface modification • Sterilization • Physiological solution for surface surface treatment These process steps are conducted under sterile conditions in every case. The final packing of the implants’ consist of three layers. The packing happens in a sterile cabin. The final sterilization procedure is an accredited 20Rad gamma sterilization.

SURFACE TREATMENT

MULTIFUNCTIONAL PACKAGING The Scandrea Implant System gets to the user in multifunctional packing. This is a complete packaging system which is necessary for the operation and to carry out any immediate sampling. Our packing contains a multifunctional abutment which not only holds the implant inside the package, but also helps the implant insertion into the jaw. Suitable for closed tray sampling and subsequently burnished into the pasted denture as head. Apart from that the packing contains an implant cover screw, but you may ask for a healing abutment instead, which in case of thicker soft tissue would redound the healing for the immediate temporary of permanent denture.

The packing has four layers from which the first two ensures the zero germ count sterilizing which is supplied with a polypropylene, sterile foil as the third layer. The packing’s fourth, outer layer is a high-density cardboards box, which is designed to provide physical protection. Hence, depending on the order volume, 5 and 10-piece collection boxes are used.

Scandrea IMPLANT SYSTEM Our newest and greatest Implant System is the result of the foremost engineering work. As the BIONIKA’s Premium Category Implant System the SCANDREA meets even the highest expectations.

Connection: Conical-Connection We use a connection which results in a micro-movement free transmission and provides advantageous conditions for the accurate sampling. It superimposes the forces deep into the implant’s inside. Bone Level It is more likely for the implant to stay inside if it’s implanted into the corticalis level or below.

Platform switching The fitting diameter of the upper structure is smaller than the outside part of the implant connecting to the bone. The bone can slide on to the top flange of the implant. Spiral, micro-grooved surface The multi-start micro-grooved spiral surface functions as a significant load-bearing element. The selflocking thread structure facilitates deducting the dynamic effects, provides the micro movement-free conditions and assures the fast incorporation. Anatomical root-shape It has a bone-compacting effect due to the implant’s tapered thread and its high pitch, large thread depth, self-locking and selfcutting formation. This enables the implant to be promptly loadable if needed, as a result of the high primary stability. Single tooth loss - in this case we do not need to abrade two healthy teeth to the bridge replacement, we insert an implant, then we stick a crown for this in a traditional way.

Teeth loss at the end of line – in this case because of the absence of rear pillar teeth we can’t make a fixed prothesis (bridge). With the insertion of at least two implants it’s possible to make the fixed bridge replacement.

In case of complete tooth loss - the patient doesn’t have tooth, we can make only complete removable dentures. We have two possibilities. I. We insert 2-4 implants, and they will fix the removable tooth. It generates an important development in the life quality of the patient, his denture will be very stabile and he can use it perfectly in the chewing and speaking also. II. With the insertion of more, 8-10 implants we can make a complete fixed prothesis, which is both funcionally and aesthetically has the same value as the natural teeth.

In the case of thin ø3,0 mm and ø3.5 mm diameter implant Scandrea perfect for thinner than average bone structure with long-term retention of dentures. Made of homogeneous structure, high strength titanium alloy.

The complex cone & hexagonal prism geometry provides the perfect fit, well proved in the engineering practice. We use a 90-degree taper angle that provides a micro movementfree load transmission and provides good conditions for accurate open or closed tray method. The forces are superimposed deep into the implant.

Spiral micro-grooved corticalis surface: Holding on to the corticalis, the multi-start micro-grooved spiral surface functions as a significant load-bearing element both in the primary and later stage. The form of the micro-thread is upwards narrowing while the core of the thread follows the 2.5-degree tapered biological tracing. SURGICAL DRILLS

The drillings of BIONIKA, which can be used during the insertion of the implant are offered in a wide range of size (even compatible with other instrument kits, to provide a more economical solution). Our drills have an external cooling and have also a bone collector property. The acid-proof alloyed steel and the perfect sharpness garantees a long-term use. Every drills are provided with a rank according to the necessary drilling depth. The diameters are marked with colorcodes. The twist drill is suitable for the preparation of the implant nest. The use of the drill is recommended according to the drilling protocol, in case of both softer and tougher bone structure. The neck expanding drills are used for the dilatation of the implant neck if it is needed. With the drill it is expedient to expand the upper third of the bone nest. The use of the drill is recommended in case of a tougher bone structure.

Ratchet Wrench The wrench serves to place and tighten the screws and implants. With preset torsional moment, it prevents the destruction of the implant and assures power-transmission during the placement of the implant. The range of the torque wrench changes within 10-35 Ncm2, plus or minus 5 percent accuracy. The range on the other side can be used as counter-torque. The torque wrench can be used in a simple ratchet wrench function.

Large Surgical kit Our surgical kit includes the instruments which are necessary for the placement of implant, in various sizes to make possible an extensive usability . The kit in which the instruments are placed, is also suitable for the sterilization of the instruments. The tray can be sterilized with the box or separately. The tray is structured according to the order of the surgical techniques, captioning and marking helps its usage.
